iTunes Match incomplete/cut off songs

After having completed the upload process, some of the songs that I listen to on my ios5 devices aren't complete, half way through the song it starts playing the next song, but according to the devices it's still playing the 1st song. This happens to both the iPad 1 & 3, and my iPhone. The original songs are complete on my computer, and there wasn't any issues with the upload. I've even waited for the full albumn to download before begining to play a song, and I still get the same issue. How can I fix this?

Guys,

I too am having this problem.

A while back, I changed the email address associated with my Apple ID. It's not a new Apple ID - it's the same account, but the email address has been changed.

This means my music library is a mix of songs authorised with my old email address and my new email address. It seems the email address is the primary key (which is all kinds of stupid - there should be a unique key associated with your account that never changes, whereas your email address is obviously something that should change).

Anyway, I've got a feeling that songs authorised by the old email address are having the issue. I was wondering if other people were having the same problem? If not, that's another thing we can rule out as the root cause of the issue.

Of course for a paid service you'd think Apple would be doing that. Seriously, who does their QA??!!

Cheers,

David

OK. Another update.

The songs that I was having problems with were also protected files, i.e. m4p.

I followed the instructions in this Knowledge Base article:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1711

I deleted the file from my computer and then downloaded it from iTunes Match again. The file only played for a couple of minutes and then stopped.

Things to note: it was the same size file as the one I deleted, so therefore it must be the full file. It must be the metadata that's wrong. I checked Get Info and there is a stop time and start time of 2 and a bit minutes. I've exported the library and the Total Time is a low number for a track of this length. Updating the library data might be the key to fixing this - I wonder if it affects what I see on my iPhone and iPad? Will try more when I get home tonight.

I can't believe Apple failed to provide a practical fix for this after multiple software updates. In fact, the recent updates have made Match even worse, with the flexibility to delete songs taken away, and the album shuffle made more difficult.

This is beyond a joke for a paid service, and after trying multpile 'fixes' I have moved to Android with a sigh of relief, uploading my 19,000 to Google Play for free, and listening to my music collection and each track in its entirety.

Goodbye Apple! *slams door*

April33's solution sadly did not work for me. I followed it to the letter with one song (deleted it from iTunes library; deleted it from cloud; reinstalled it into library; watched it get picked back up by iTunes Match; watched it reappear on my iPhone), and it still has exactly the same problem. Cuts right off; starts into the next song. Very frustrating.

My iTunes library is on a 2-year-old MacBook Pro, so I don't think that's the problem, either.

And it's not just on purchased music.

I guess I'll just shut off Match and go back to synching everything directly with iTunes. Very disappointing.

hi, i have to say since i upgraded to the new IOS i've been experiencing all sorts of issues with playing music from my iPhone. ALL my music was/is stored in the god forsaken cloud and will only play once it has been downloaded time and time again via my phone, thus costing me far too much of my data allowance per month, NOT HAPPY!!

I've attempted to do what was recommended by those from Apple, turn off iMatch however, this then removes ALL songs from my device and i'm unable to then sync my library from my PC back to my device, again, NOT HAPPY!!

This is not just any music bought from iTunes, it is also what i have imported. I'm not very happy with Apple about this and i'm struggling to find a solution where my library will be imported to my idevices and play from the device only NOT the Cloud.

If ANYONE knows a simple solution to fix this without complicated work arounds, i'm open to suggestions.

PLEASE HELP!!

songs will make their own mashup with what seems are different cue times, but the current track info stays the same.

most offending files have been mp3 of various bitrates.

the original file is a ok.

after read what someone else said about going to amazon or google......

WHY NOT, is there really a benefit to match? that was a smack of reality. thank you.

Hi Guys

I have a bit of a strange issue with Match, only one track to be precise. The track is an Apple Lossless rip from a CD that has been uploaded as it couldn't be matched. It plays fine on the Mac and fine on my other 3 idevices if I stream only. After I download the track to the device it will then not play and skips straight to the next song.

I've tried all of the usual tips: turn Match off and on again, I've even re-ripped the track to see if that worked, but to no avail.

Any ideas?

A year ago about 150 of my songs started cutting off before the end even though the files showed the correct run times. It only affected songs over 4:00 and only songs I had purchased thru iTunes (none that I had copied from cds). Couldn't figure out how to fix it so I just unchecked them so they wouldn't play. Yesterday I decided to just delete them since I couldn't play them and discovered like other posters that after deleting I could reload the songs from iCloud. I know that other posters said that didn't work for them, but for me it has been a 100% fix.

try deleting the song, move it to the trash, then sync iphone to take the song off iphone. do not transfer deleted songs from iphone to itunes library. after song is deleted from library and iphone, take it out of the trash and put it back into itunes library. sync phone again to include song you just pulled out of the trash. it has worked for me to play the song in its entirety after it was cut short.

Still same problem after update. Was working fine until about 2 months ago. Now any music that I add to my iTunes library will not play correctly on my iphone 5s. Music skips sections the timer bar glitches etc. have turned match on and off, reset my library, deleted and reinstalled everything and nothing has fixed the problem. You would think something as fundamental as being ale to play music would be easy in 5s over match but it is making it a very painful experience.
