iTunes Match incomplete/cut off songs

After having completed the upload process, some of the songs that I listen to on my ios5 devices aren't complete, half way through the song it starts playing the next song, but according to the devices it's still playing the 1st song. This happens to both the iPad 1 & 3, and my iPhone. The original songs are complete on my computer, and there wasn't any issues with the upload. I've even waited for the full albumn to download before begining to play a song, and I still get the same issue. How can I fix this?

Yes, same here. Not sure what to think. Apple IDs often have phone numbers associated with them (check your account over on Apple's site). He didn't ask for anything fishy, just wanted an email address to send a link to for me to upload the songs that get cut off. I haven't clicked the link he sent yet; I think I'll contact Apple first and see if this is legit.

I would love for them to be taking this problem seriously.

Apple, when will you fix this issue that has been going on for quite some time?? We all paid for the service yet the product is still flawed. So what did we actually pay for, an annoying headache? Your customers' frustration is apparent throughout my search for a fix.

Losing faith in apple's products.

I have this problem as well on my iphone 5. It will download song from cloud and about half way thru the sound stops, the song time slider still keeps moving as if the song was still playing but no sound. This is for stuff that I burned form my CD collection and have purchased from itunes. Match is worthless

Hi

I'm having a similar issue with some songs only playing the first few bars and then skipping to the next song.

As I don't know what "match" is, don't pay for anything by subscription and just use the iTunes software along with my old Classic I think my issue is similar but not the same cause..... or is it?

I've had it from the beginning (couple of years at least) and have done everything I know how to do including deleting all of my uploaded music and starting again from scratch and it still happens.

Until I found this thread this morning I was thinking of just buying a fancy new iPOD but having read this thread I'm guessing the "issue" will continue and I would be "spitting chips" if I'd gone ahead.

So thank you, I'll just get annoyed when my iPOD skips songs and keep my hard earned cash in my pocket!

This is happening to mainly songs that I've added myself and not those from iTunes. What I've been doing as a workaround is go into iTunes and delete the song and delete the file when asked and put into temporarily into trash (or recycle bin). I then sync iTunes. After that I will move the file from trash back to its original location, add it back to iTunes and sync again.

I've been having this issue for years. What I've determined is that the songs cut off early only on iDevices, not in iTunes on the PC. All the affected songs are .m4p files. I created a playlist for .m4p files and then ripped them as .mp3 files to a virtual CD using NoteBurner. Unbelievably, the files were ripped *with* the mp4 iDevices truncation! I guess the only other possibility is *actually* rip these files to real CDs and see if that resolves the issue. Quite frankly, and largely if not entirely due to this issue, I can't wait to move onto another platform. It's unbelievable that Apple hasn't addressed an issue that's been around for *years.*

Obviously we're not alone. Apple needs to figure this out, and quick. I do not have time to sort through my thousands of music files to determine which are acting out and which are not. This NEVER happened before Match. Nearly all music files that are acting this way were purchased from iTunes many years ago. I'm going to actively look into Google Play....listening to MY music should be enjoyable and leave me happy and content, not FRUSTRATED and ANNOYED. Get with the program, Apple!

Same issue. I've done everything I know to do. I've talked to Apple and been passed up to someone who works with engineers and had several calls with her. Here is a fix I found:

1) Get Amazon Cloud Player app.

2) Download the tracks you want to your phone. Don't stream them.

3) Amazon Player will play them fine.

I don't know if you need to tie the amazon player to an amazon account, but you might. I've been buying music from Amazon and will continue to do so till Apple fixes this.

They offered to give my my $25 back for iTunes Match, but, honestly, I'd rather have the service work. Downloading to the device is a pain, but at least they will play.

I'm guessing this means the problem is in the iOS Music app, since the tracks play fine everywhere but in that app. The downloaded tracks will fail in Music app, but play fine in Amazon CLoud Player app.

You can also get the tracks to play by turning off iTunes Match and tethering the phone to a computer. Load the files that way, and they will play fine. Switch iTunes Match back on and they fail. They will still play in the Amazon Player, however. The problem must be in the iOS Music app and how it works with iTunes Match. I've been working on Macs since 1988. There are few issues I cannot fix myself; and I have never seen an issue like this where Apple does not address it. Both the issue and the customer service are puzzling.
