2.4GHz or 2.5GHz MacBook Pro?
Is the extra couple hundred dollars worth the extra 100MHz?

In my opinion NO. Look at the difference in this performance test: http://www.macworld.com/article/1163307/new_macbook_pros_late_2011_feature_updat es_that_boost_performance_and_value.html

I agree, the 2.5GHz is not worth the money for the paltry performance gain. The purpose of my post was to insure that anyone that reads this thread understands what their choices are.
That I agree with

Well it can be or it may not be. The early 2011 13" came with an i5 2.5. the late model came with an i5 2.4.
No the early 2011 13-inch came in 2.3 GHz dual-core i5, and 2.7GHz dual-core i7. I have the i7 model.
Yes the built to order 2.5GHz 15" model was what I was referring to AppleExpert105 hit it right on the head.

Thanks for that. I was under the assumption it was the 13" but in hindsight it was the 15" that came with a 2.3 i7 Quad on the early and a 2.2 on Late but the 2.2 is actually faster then the 2.3.
Yes, the high end 2.2GHz core i7 from early 2011 got bumped down to the low end model. I believe it's a different processor model from early 2011. Intel released new processors in Q4-11...and Apple followed. This is the 2.2GHz from Early 2011 and this is the Late 2011.
