iTunes match will NOT display playlist (iPhone 4 8gb white at&t)

Hello.

iTunes Match WILL work on any device I've attached it to (2 iMacs and an iPhone 4s), however the white iPhone 4 (8gb AT&T) WILL NOT display any playlist that are on the computer (that show up on my iPhone 4s).

Found a trick.. This issue has been bugging me since i had my iPhone 5 replaced yesterday

First: have both iTunes match on, iOS Device and Computer

Second: change a playlist name. Example "Untitled Playlist" change to "Untitled Playlists" put another letter in there, like i did with the "S".

Third: go to your device and it should pop up. give it a minute to load it. let me know.

I have tried all of the above suggestions and none of them work to get my new playlists on my PC to show on my iPhone 4s. I have upgraded to iTunes 11.0.1.12. I've tried dissabling iTunes Match, re-syncing via USB, and re-enabling iTunes Match. At no time during this process did my new playlists ever show on my phone. Even with iTunes Match dissabled, re-syncing via USB did not make my playlists show on my iPhone. That makes me think this must be more than just an iTunes Match issue. It must be a problem with syncing playlists with iTunes in general. Re-enabling iTunes Match also did not make the new playlists show on the iPhone. Interestingly, all my older playlists which were created before I started using iTunes Match, and before I upgraded iTunes 11.0.1.12, all show perfectly on my iPhone. I hope Apple fixes this issue soon!

Problem solved, sort of:

In each of my newer playlists that weren't showing, there was one song that was not eligible for iCloud. (Cloud icon with a slash though it) Removing that song from the playlist caused it to show imediately on my iPhone.

The problem with this is, as I mentioned above, I also dissabled iCloud and synced via USB. And without re-enabling iCloud, the playlist still wouldn't show on my iPhone when that song was in it. So perhaps the song is "not eligible for iPhone" in addition to being "not eligible for iCloud". The only trouble with this is there was no indication of this either in iTunes or on the iPhone. I had to figure it out by trial and error and by sleuthing through the playlist to notice the icon.

What should happen is that the playlist should show on the iPhone and in iCloud but without the offending song. Anyway now I know what to look for if this happens again. I hope this helps others.

I was having the same problem syncing playlists through iTunes Match. I discovered I had several songs that do not work with iCloud, still do not know why, however they are indicated by a cloud with a stripe through them. After I removed these songs from the playlist it came right up on my phone. Hope this helps.

After reading all the posts, I have the feeling there is something more fundamentally amiss. With Match turned on (both in iTunes on my iMac and on my iPhone 5), when I go to music with the phone selected in itunes, it does not give me the screen that allows me to select playlists to synch. As though, there is no intention for this.

When I turn off match on the iPhone 5, all my previously selected playlists are there, but I only have access to what I have synch'd, not what is in the cloud.

I am able to create new playlists on the iPhone 5, using songs fro the cloud, but as several have mentioned, that would be starting from scratch, and nobody wants to do that.

Anyone able to select playlists for their IOS device from itunes with match turned on in both places?

I believe problem is when you accidentally delete a song within a playlist (or a whole playlist) and undo the action
by key command (cmd+z) it will get stuck.. (I still took screen shots -just my preference) of the playlist and started deleting the most recent ones..(2) and all genius playlist (since they are easy to recreate).

I did the following:

  1. ⚠RUN iTunes Match to make sure any and all recent music that has been added the iCloud.⚠
I didn't want to dump all my playlist so I kept a few of them that I knew I had not adjusted at all.⚠
  2. sign out of the stores to disabled MusicMatch setting>> iTunes & App Stores and sign out.
  3. make sure that Music says "No Data"

    general>> usage>>

    • if Music has any type of file size please
      music>> editdelete it!
  4. restart the phone
  5. Once restrarted sign into the stores and enabled MusicMatch

The playlist appeared 😐 then music 😀 and then the 😍😀😁🙂😍album art!!

I hope this helps..

Itunes match is the buggiest piece of crap I have ever had the misfortune to use. Apple should be ashamed of itself selling this junk, in fact I want a refund.

I have succesfully used it once, the rest of the time, it just seems to like overwriting itself and making playlists randomly dissapear on one computer but not the other.

Garbage. 100%.

I have had iTunes Match for a week and certain playlists would not sync to iPad or iPhone. I simply had to remove some songs that would not sync properly to the cloud. After I deleted the song entirely, I went back to the cloud and downloaded the couple of offending songs. Then added them back to the playlist and wihin seconds the playlists appeared both on my iPad and iPhone.
