iPhone Volume Not Working Updated 5.1

my iphone 4 is not working after updated to 5.1 i have my phone about a year and never had any problems with it. then i updated my phone to 5.1 and use it for a while then suddenly the volume dont work no more its not in mute it does not ring or nothing total silence youtube, music, etc...😮 i restore my phone and nothing still the same i try everything and nothing😠. please anyone help me!!!!!

Returned from Apple Store. They can not fix it. They tested it and said water has gotten into the earplug outlet. I have no idea how that happened as the phone has not fallen into water, etc. It has NOT been wet. We do live in a humid area but it's not been that humid! So even though under the year warranty, Apple is not going to replace phone. Frustrated.
