I, personally, had no problem finding three questions too which I knew the answer but I can see that a 15 year old might have a problem.

Been going round and round with Apple for about a week.  Grouse here all you want but Apple will not see it (they claim that anyway, but somehow your post may be mysteriously deleted  - sounds like the "big brother" that Jobs warned us about in 1984).

Here is the latest response I got from them.  Obviously they don't care about the issue.  Follow this guys advice and send your feedback to the link he gave me.  It's a one-way communication (they will not respond), but I could make you feel better to vent.  Maybe if they get enough complaints...  (hey, I can dream, right).

    Dear Dennis,

    Joseph here again from iTunes.

I do apologize for the inconvenience that has occurred with the implementation of these new security features.

Apple recognizes that no one is better qualified to provide feedback about iTunes than the people who use it.

I encourage you to use the iTunes Feedback page to submit your comments:

Your efforts to share your feedback are very much appreciated.

As for getting a refund for your iPad, you will have to go to the point of sale in order to request a refund.

Thanks for your understanding, Dennis and have a wonderful day.

    Joseph, Senior Advisor

    iTunes Customer Support

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to assist you.

I should put in a ticket, saying someone has compromised my account and is currently trying to trick me into telling them who my first kiss was with.  Sicko hackers!

I started actually looking at CD's on Amazon again

No more iTunes purchases for me.  An array of security questions intended for kids.  I'm 56, and I can't possibly remember my favorite teacher, my childhood best friend, my first album, etc.

If Apple someday recognizes that grown-ups are among their customers, perhaps I'll resume buying through iTunes.  Until then, Amazon gets my business.

Hello, I set my private questions and answers a few days ago. Now have a problem with remembering what the answers were. I is there a way to get the answers sent to your email? Just forgot the darn answers .... HELP

I wish I had a solution for ya, but this is EXACTLY why we're all complaining here - useless questions.

I do not mind using the three security questions but they simply do not exist in my account.

Over two weeks ago I tried to buy an album on iTunes and could not.  Two weeks on I am apparently no closer to buying that album and I have been through three sets of hands with both iTunes support and my local Apple Store.  I still only have my original question and answer (singular) on AppleID account and everytime I go to iTunes they ask me for the answer to three questions which I have never seen.  Please is there anyone out there that can help me to turn on the three questions - if they exist somewhere in my reach - and get back online?

I have asked for a refund so I can find an alternative way of downloading music but this question did not get a response.

It appears from the email trail above I am not the only the only person with this problem.

In the meantime I occasionally have another crack at buying that elusive album @ iTunes hoping that someone one the other end has figured it out.

Apple - I love you but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix this. I can't get ANYTHING from iTunes.

I assume we've all hit the Apple brick wall and they are selling enough stuff despite our complaints. There are several things I would have bought recently but can't get my head around the absurdity of the security questions - I can't think of an answer to any of them.

These are realy obnoxious.  It's easier to access your Social Security account than this.  And asking for date of birth really looks like phishing for demographic information.  It used to be really easy to access iTunes which is the reason for its' phenominal success.  I'm sure Steve Jobs would not be pleased.  And by the way, the edit for date of birth ("must be between 1880 and 2010") is loony, and the whole dialogue locks up after that, requiring that you go through the whole onerous business again.  Phooey on Apple!

    I won't do it

I would email iTunes Store Support. If they get many emails, they might do something about it.

    Hope this helps.

It has been over two weeks since iTunes support offered to help me with getting past the hurdles created by the security upgrade.  I am currently with someone that says they are a supervisor and he are only blowing smoke up my YKW.   The 'supervisor' did credit 5 songs to my account to ease my frustration- funny - I cannot use them because I cannot get my problem resolved. I just want someone to tell me where the three questions are on my AppleID page.  Since the apparent security upgrade when I try to buy something it asks me to answer three questions which I have never seen.  I would happily set those three questions up if I could find them.  I only have the option of ONE question on my AppleID which has always been the case for all the years I have been using apple products.

I am going to copy this to itunes store thanks Soren.

The company that created the Mac, the iPod, the iPhone and the iPad can't create meaningful security questions for iTunes?

Steve Jobs understood that Apple's customers include a vast number of adults.  They now appear to think we're all teenagers.

Amazon has to be thrilled with how Apple is treating its customers.
