Q: New iTunes security questions

Hello,

iTunes is now asking me to fill in 3 security questions: http://s19.postimage.org/5jz0q6pr7/apple_sec_ques.jpg

1. How can i still use iTunes store and NOT use these security questions?

Why would i not want to use them? Well, i prefer to use a password only i know, not use insecurity questions like "whats your first car?" It's not hard for a whole bunch of people to know that one. Setting these insecurity questions is just giving anyone that vaguely knows me free and easy assess to my account. I DO NOT WANT THAT!

2. How do i make iTunes stop asking my account password every time i want to play songs, download something, or do basically anything in iTunes? It's really irritating to have to put in my password 50 times a week (and nobody else uses this computer.)

Yes, I too thought this was a scam then realised I cannot use any of my apple computers or iphones to download apps, music etc.

I don't mind security questions, I would just like a list to choose from a list of questions that I have a chance of recalling the answers.  The questions put forward are so difficult as they dont relate to my life.  It would force me to take the answers I make up around with me, just in case, and what would be the increased security in that?

This unplanned initiative has meant I have gone from being an apple fan to now deciding to put off any new purchases as I am too scared this type of inflexible initiative will be rolled out further or unnecessarily.

The store recommended I filled out a product contact form but this form on the apple site says no one will respond personally so it seems there is nowhere to call or lodge the complaint, other than here?

I want to use my Itues account and the money thats sitting there but it wont let me as I WONT put questions into Itunes as I have a password and I think that is secure enough.

Im beggining to wonder if Apple wants our money if they want to make it so hard for people to use.

If people wna to use the question well and good if they dont then its up to them.  I personaly dotn want to use questions and besides at my age I cant remember who I had as a school teacher or car.  If someone knows you well enough then they would be able to get into your account.

I agree patentdude they take our money when we buy these things then we should ahve the choice of questions or not.

I think I would join that action as they are making it so we cant use our apple products.

I'm in agreement as well.  The questions offered are far too common and answers can be easily guessed by individuals who may know me fairly well.  I'm also a bit insulted that Apple requires me to enter my password *twice* when signing in, then tells me that they want to increase security by requiring me to answer rather inane questions that really do not need to be answered.  Quite honestly, I can create far more secure questions that I personally can answer far more easily and do not have permutations that can be difficult to remember.

This feature needs to be removed from iTunes.  (I'm halfway tempted to stop using the product, it's becoming more and more bloated and difficult to use every time I load it.)

These security questions are terrible.  I've ceased using the store until the company lets us write our own or gives up on the flawed failed policy.  I won't even pretend to play along with answering these horribly conceived questions.

What a fiasco.  Jobs obviously ain't running the show!

Hello everyone, I dont know if the solution has been posted yet but, in order to keep from siging in before every download in the App store, you must first "Authorize my computer" while signed into itunes.  This option will be under the "Store" tab in the menu bar.

I had to sign in three times just to be able to post this. Even if I thought another layer of ”security” was apprpriate or necessary, the childish questions are so alien to my life that I don’t have a hope of remembering my answers. I don’t know how we persuade Apple to drop this ********, but until I can make a purchase with just my password I’ll be buying my books from Google (where you can stay signed in and buy with ‘one-click’) and won’t be buying apps!

I think the # of people complaining about this is probably tiny.  Everyone else likely caved on day 1

I haven't purchased anything from there since this started since I can find it all on Amazon or elsewhere.  No means no

I did the same. Haven't bought anything from iTunes ever since, no Apps, no Music, no Movies. This whole added security questions fiasco was so poorly executed that you wonder why all those "Geniuses" at Apple couldn't have come up with something at least semi-intelligent.
