"Could not purchase" iTunes Store Error

I keep getting the error message:

"Could not purchase (insert songname here) the network connection was reset"

whenever I try to buy this one song I want. Does anyone know why or have a way to help me with this?

All i can say is apple is obviously not taking responsibility for this because it has been happening a few years.

For instance

And some people noticed strange updates without titles.

Yes, I've seen various posts from years like 2007, 2008, and then a quick jump to 2011.

Perhaps it is a server-wide update they didn't expect to impact the store so heavily?

Or it may be an error they just haven't caught yet. Either way, I'm waiting for something to be changed so we can do what iTunes is supposed to be based on:

buying media.

Until then I guess we continue waiting for some sign of hope.

Im having the same issue. Brought a new laptop yesterday and started to use the new "itunes in icloud" to move all my music over to the new laptop and it all of a sudden stop transferring. Ran some test and its saying that "secure connection to itunes store failed". did some research and tried everything from reinstalling, rebooting, some winsock issue, firewall, etc...nothing fixed it...called support, they wanted me to pay 30$ for help, i told them where to go....im getting a lil jacked off, also they just came out for a new itunes update in the past hr or two and they didnt help either....

here's a weird piece of information...because i pre-bought tickets to see the avengers movie, i received an email with a coupon for a free song from itunes. just for fun, i clicked that link, which brought me to the coupon redemption page, and after i entered the coupon, the song downloaded straight-away!!! so i thought, hey - it's back! but when i go to try downloading another song, or an app, nothing. very strange behavior.

Same here. Can't download apps, can't do any updates. No matter the reset of my iphone, PC, account, etc. It also seems other people can access iTunes/App Store without any problems.

Just wondering, is your ISP Bell or AT&T ?

It might have something to do with the ISP since the store itself doesn't seem to be the problem.

All I can tell is that none of the solutions so far resolved the problem. So it's ''waiting'' mode.

Happening to me as well (in Seattle), from both PCs and iPhone 4. Diagnostics report connection to apple is okay, but connection to apple store is failing. Clearly there is a problem with the Apple store's SSL service or certificate. Or perhaps it's a DST issue -- they seem to have a lot of trouble with that concept.

Is it too much to ask a company worth half a trillion dollars to put up an iTMS status page, like www.apple.com/itunes/status/, to save us all from having to do all this troubleshooting for nothing? Cmon, Apple - a little user support here. This isn't rocket science.
