"Could not purchase" iTunes Store Error

I keep getting the error message:

"Could not purchase (insert songname here) the network connection was reset"

whenever I try to buy this one song I want. Does anyone know why or have a way to help me with this?

I was having this issue with updates for apps. Kept failing more then 75%. If I hit 'restart' it had a 50% success, then hit restart again, the chances go better. Very annoying when I have about 30 updates each time I do this. What I did helped alot, didn't fix it complete though... only failing 10% of the time now.

I went into downloads in itunes when things were downloading, and turned off simultaneous downloads. *****, I had to do this but helping me in my situaton

Also, worth noting. When I do a diagonsis, I found that i failed a secure link to apple when running network diagnostic. The details showed it could not reach iphone activation server. Not sure if anyone has assistance on fixing the ROOT issue rather than my bandaid.

@Paul, I've been getting the same failure for days now. Clicking "Update All" pretty much always fails and if I update one at a time I get fail, fail fail, succeed, fail, fail, fail, fail, succeed,... And it seems to be getting worse.

Updating apps from my phone instead of thru iTunes seems to work much, much better, but I still get failures on the phone too.

I don't think it is anything on users' end. It really smells like Apple is having a capacity issue. Maybe they are fighting off some kind of attack like a Denial of Service or something and don't want to admit while their are engaged with fighting it.
