Avoid answering security questions

APp store insists that answer security questions. I do not want this. How can I get around that window?

ok this is what i have found out without the help of anyone on this thread. Shout out to user Soren Pearson who suggested on different thread

Or you can go to https://expresslane.apple.com follow through with iTunes>iTunes Store>Account Management and have an iTunes Advisor contact you..

I received an email from an apple drone that gave some info

With this new system in place, when a purchase is attempted from a new device or computer, the store selects, at random, two of the three challenge questions for your Apple ID to verify that you are the account owner. If the questions are answered incorrectly ten times, your account becomes temporarily locked. When your account is locked, you cannot make purchases using any device that has not previously used the Apple ID. It also prevents you from changing your challenge questions. However, you are still able to make purchases using a trusted device.

so

You could just provide anything for an answer to those questions. They don't have to be true.

city parents met? The capital of Atlantis.

Done. The only time you would ever need the answers would be if you forget your Apple ID password. In that case, the answers are used to insure that you are really you and not somebody trying to hijack your account.

You don't have to remember the answers. Print the screen after you've filled them in and put it in a safe, secure place along with your other important papers.

i do have to remember made up names to irrelevant questions or file them in a secure place in case i buy an other apple device in the future.

if this works it is just proof that the policy doesn't work (i haven't tried it).

Meg answered your question. You must supply those in order to continue using iTunes. It's for when you forget you pass word apple can make sure it's you. Nough said.

you're a troll.

I think that you should simply refuse to buy anything from iTunes. How dare they attempt to prevent others from accessing your account? It's YOUR inalienble right to allow the world to use your account.

i have already provided a password and a security question (which i can still see if i log on to http://appleid.apple.com. Thanx for trolling

Seriously people if you don't have anything construtive to say maybe you should just call your mom, she'll give you the ego boost you're looking for.

My speculation is that there are increased rates of refund/chargeback calls from iTunes accounts with one-click purchase on, Apple is using this security measure as a preventive tool to prevent excessive chargebacks & refunds by making sure one-click users are absolutely rational about their purchases.

Do you have one click on in your case?

I do not experience this issue as my one-click is off, purchase of apps be it free or paid only only requires password verification in my case. All I have to is simply to re-type my CCV if I were to use my iTunes account on a new device.

My advice: Turn one-click off.

You see people, this is what this forum is all about, this person wasn't able to help but was at least trying.

What policy doesn't work? Providing letter and numbers (sometimes known as words but they don't need to be actual words) as an answer?

Apples "security policy" isn't adding security if i can use the same answer for all the questions.

Yes you do.

That may be technically true but it has never been used. i.e. it isn't tied to my apple id.
