Apps won't download on my iOS devices.

I have a 3rd generation iPad and an iPhone 4, both of which are encountering problems downloading apps from the app store.

I first noticed the problem about 5 days ago, whenever i attempt to download an app or an update to an app it just stops at "waiting" on the home screen. I am unable to pause/resume the app status, as when i tap on it nothing happens.

if i leave the app for about 5-10 minutes i get a warning pop up along the lines of "could not connect to the iTunes store"...my wifi is connected fine and i have tried it on other peoples wifi and still have the same problem.

I have tried resetting the iPad and iPhone and that doesn't fix it either.

I even went to the extend of wiping the iPad completely and restoring from iCloud and that didn't fix it, I tried then restoring as a completely new iPad and that didn't fix it either.

I was beginning to think that it must be an issue with my apple ID, however it still lets me sign in ok and when i plug my iPad into my MacBook Pro and open iTunes I am able to install the apps via that method.

To be clear, it is installing or updating apps on my iOS devices themselves that refuses to work.

I hope you can advise a solution as I am becoming increasingly frustrated with my lack of progress on what seems such a ridiculous issue as downloading apps is one of the more basic functions of an iOS device.

Solution for those who haven't worked it out with the previos methods:

Delete all the app that need updates, and then manually install one by one again, I had to delete 49 apps in order to work.

As mentioned before it has to do with apps that had started and hadn't finished.

Now I'll download them on the desktop and transfer them to the phone.

Update: Hmmm but still can't sync. another issue.

Well atleast I can dowload them directly at the phone.

I started having issues exactly after I created the security questions, though my issue is that "there is no space to download" even though there is plenty of space to download the apps...

Both my wifes and my iPad (3rd gen) had this same problem I have spent most of the day trying to get it sorted then after reading here I tried again.

This is what I have done removed iTunes ID from mine then I restarted my iPad was not sure if it had any thing to do with it but after adding my Apple ID on my iPad and my Apple ID in iTunes on my PC all seemed to work so I did the same with my wifes and hers is now downloading the elevern App updates.

Not saying the reboot had anything to do with it but there are two iPad's at least that are now updating the App's that are already on them.

I had just the same problem just now but i just turn off and turn on my ipad again . And it worked. Try it maybe.

Your best bet, BEFORE you reset or restore is to go to your settings/store and sign out then sign in again.

This should solve your issue.

If not, then try resetting.

If still not, then backup and restore.

If you still can't download, then repeat the first step (sign out and then in again).

Same here - iPhone 5 won't update Yelp app. Not a big deal, but I'd like for things to work as they should.

Yes, just had this. The odd thing was that would not accept an e-mail address that was the same as the store log in. I could not complete the process because I do not have another e-mail address.

The real question though is: is it genuine?
