delete alias icon from desktop lion 10.7

I have several Alias Icons on my desktop which are unable to be removed.

I have tried changing the rw permission and reselecting the original appliaction etc.

But still unable to delete these alias icons.

can someone point me in the right dircetion to use Terminal command such as rm -f file name

to permanetely remove these left over icons.

Before OS X Lion 10.7 I was able to chmod etc and delete the icon.

Thanks

So I have a brand new MacBook Pro, presumably with the latest software. I also have three ghost app icons that sit in front of every application, desktop, etc, in the center of the screen, just above the app bar. This is extremely annoying and I see nothing anywhere about how to get rid of thes.

I cannot click on them or do anything with them, they just sit there. I am new to the Mac so I don' even know how to do a screenshot to show you them.
