.mov is audio only. Mpeg -2 issue?

Howdy. I just hired a videographer who gave me .MOV files that won't work on my MacBook Pro / Snow Leopard 10.6.8

It's a .MOV file

1920 x 1080

COdecs MPEG-2, Linear PCM, time code

Color profile: HD (1-1-1)

The audio works, but no video.

I've tried using Quicktime PLAYER, as well as VISUALHUB to try to translate it to DV.

I'm bummed because I need the footage, and it cost a great deal.

Is it a conversion problem? Is there a way for me to get these clips into Final Cut Express 4?

If you can help, you'll be my hero!

I'm nearly there. I did use http://www.snowfoxsoft.com/video-converter-mac.html and got it into a form that FCE 4 can view.

Phew.

But I have a new (much easier question.)

Now I have a MP.4 file.

1920 x 1088

H.264, ACC f\

Is there some way to prep it for FCE so that the rendering isn't so dog gone long? Can I use streamclip or something to get it into a better file?

I did use VISUALHUB to turn it into a FCP ready .dv file, but it only maxes at 720 resolution.

I'm THRILLED for your help. It will still work, but it'd be cool to prep it for FCE to save me time in the edits.

Thanks again, Gents!!!!
