I have MBP that has 2x 2G DDR3 1067MHz memory installed on it, I would like to upgrade them to 2x 4G, but I'm not sure what to buy. are memories for Macs, Mac specific? or I can use any standard laptop RAM?

That will work...
Most RAM modules now use Samsung, Hynix and Micron.
Just make sure however, you are not using second tier RAM (cheap ones) on your mb.
Macbooks are picky when it comes to RAM
Your MacBook Pro requires 1066mHz RAM. Chances are very high that you will have issues if you use 1333mHz RAM

You're right, Corsair has been getting a number of great comments on here lately. Keep forgetting about their stuff and just focusing on Crucial and OWC. Corsair is another good option.
Caudillo Courcoul, Saludos amigo; You are correct, the 2010 MBPs are limited to 8 GB RAM. The 2011 can absorb a full 16 GB (which most users really do not need).

Just make sure you can return them in case you start having issues with your MB.
Both companies I linked sell 1066 RAM.
Still, it's your choice in the end.
