If you have an app on your iOS device, you SHOULD keep up with the updates. Quite simply, many of them are written poorly and can interfere with other apps, memory-leak-like things (not te correct technical term, but I'm not a programmer, just a guy who works at the fruit themed store). If you don't want to update the app, take it off your device. The updates FREQUENTLY only provide backend fixes that you can't see but make the app more stable and less crappy.
If its on your device, keep it updated. If you do not want to update it, take it off of your device.
