Under outgoing mait server just click on SMTP and it will take you to the primary server

Hi I have been working through all these comments and post. I thought I was getting there but as of 01 November 2013 O2 have closed down there email accounts. I was wondering do you have any other option or idea that I could try.
I am Getting emails in on my iPad but they won't sent. I'm currently overseas at the moment. Thanks

I tried setting it up as though i had a talktalk email account.

Tiscali settings iPad
Add account
Other (provider)
Type
Name: Your own name choice
Email: your tiscali user name@talktalk.co.uk
Description: talktalk.co.uk
Then click next and choose imap option NOT POP3!!
Then change settings to tiscali.
Incoming mail server
Host name; iMap.tiscali.co.uk
Username;your user name@tiscali.co.uk
Password; your own password
Outgoing mail server
Smtp. Smtp.tiscali.co.uk
Username; leave blank
Password; leave blank
Primary server
Host name; smtp.tiscali.co.uk
Username;
Password;
Use Ssl ; off
Authentication; blank
Server port: 25
Thanks I had already tried this but it didn't work.
But I have just managed to make it work. incoming emails set up with IMAP. Out going mail I have set up my I cloud email account and used my smtp setting for my I cloud email. Just by magic it now works I can received and send email from my iPad. I have tested on other people wifi networks also.

Hello Snoots - am really still struggling with setting up my dads ipad with tiscali mail. I have followed your instructions but I can get mail into him but not out? Any ideas? I get the message it says the senders address was rejected by the server?? Any help much appreciated
Yes there is an answer, but it took me a lot of trial and error!! In the end I signed up to SMTP2GO.com. It is free of charge and works wonderfully. I now use this as my outgoing mail server on the iPad and it allows me to send up to 20 emails a day from my Tiscali account on my iPad free of charge. As they say simples!! I strongly recommend that you give it a go. It works !!!

Hi - how do you sign up to SMTP2GO.COM - as my brother who is 78 is having the same problems on his tiscali email on his ipad. He can receive but not send. I have been on chat with tiscali for over an hour today and all the settings they gave me did not work
I have now registered for an smtp2go.com user for my brother - but do nt know what to do with it. Is there anyone who can send me the settings that i should be using for his ipad so that he can send email. He can send all his emails using his laptop or any other device - but not his ipad

The settings you need are listed on the SMTP2GO website:
In your mail settings on your ipad, set the outgoing mail server as smtpcorp.com. Add you own username and passwoprd (your tiscali email address and password) and then set the server port to 2525.
That should work for you! Get back to me if not.
Brilliant - done it now. I also had to use the SMTP2GO settings for his mobile phone. Thanks a million for all the help - it is now working and my brother, who is 78, is very happy with his 63 year old sister (me). Once again, thanks for everything
I have been trying to help my 89 year old mother set Tiscali up on her new iPad over the phone as I am 500 miles away from her. I have followed the posts on here and it has not helped. She is only going to use her iPad at home but it will not send emails, the rest works fine. I have then tried to set her email up on my iPad and it won't work for me either. All my emails work fine, I have several as I use for home and work.
I have deleted and started from scratch several times. It should not be this hard. Her iCloud email works fine but she wants to use the Tiscali one.
Hi. I've just seen your post about sending emails via Tiscali. Please see my posts above about setting up SMTP2GO as the outgoing mail server. This certainly works from the UK and I would imagine it works internationally...? If you follow the steps above to set up SMTP2GO it should work fine. See the response from Currie50 above.
Thanks - the server port number was wrong. Changing it to 25 sorted it. I've put up with this for over a year....so pleased I finally did something about it.
