How do I watch downloaded movies in Itunes in airplane mode?

I have 2 movies I downloaded from ITunes that I would like to watch on an airplane. I'm testing that currently and when I put the IPAD into airplane mode and go to Itunes, it says it cannot connect to Itunes because there is no network. How do I 'browse' to my downloaded movies in Itunes to watch the movie without wireless or 3G?

I have found recently that I've not been able to watch downloaded rented documentaries, on my IPad, on an airplane. This never used to be a problem. I've always preferred documentaries to movies and

have watched several during long flights.

They are stored in my videos and when I attempt to open them, I receive a permissions'

window that states that I have no permission to access the item. (Stated in different

wording.) Yet, I have no problem watching the film in a spot with WI-FI access, once

I'm off the airplane.

On the other hand, I've downloaded several TV series, and have had no problem watching

them on airplanes.

My husband has no difficulty, nor have I, watching rental movies on the IPad.

I'd love to solve this mystery, as I'm about to take a long flight.

It seems you have to start watching a rented movie with an Internet connection so it can start the timer, but after that you can continue to watch it in flight.

Not true. You can start a movie in Airplane Mode, i.e. without a connection, as long as it's fully downloaded.

How do I fully download them? I bought the Lord of the Rings trilogy through my computer, then downloaded them through purchases. But only through iCloud. I can't watch them without internet, but I bought them so I could watch them on road trips when I wouldn't have internet.

I need help. I have read all the responses. My movie rental is stored on iCloud. I have 2 more movies I paid for and cannot download as I have no space. I do not want to purchase space unless I know I can watch them without an Internet connection, as the plane does not have WiFi If I put them on the cloud, can I watch the movies on the plane. It is an 11 hour flight and would like to see feature movies. Anyone confirm?
