No WiFi after updating to 5.1.1

Ever since updating my iPhone 4s to the new 5.1.1 my home WiFi won't work on my iPhone.

I go to the Airport Utility App and it says that the Internet is not connected but a Windows laptop and Android phone can connect to the network but NOT my iPhone.

I have a new 2TB Time Capsule that I purchased about 2 weeks ago. So when I tried to go online on my phone and it uses the 3G network NOT WiFi, so I thought maybe it was my actual internet so I called Cox Communications (Internet Provider) they reset my modem and then had me reset my TC and still nothing. The COX representative stated that everything looked good on her end. So now that everything except my iPhone is able to connect to the WiFi and Cox saying everything is good, I have come to the conclusion that the problem is my iPhone and the new update to 5.1.1.

After hanging up with with Cox I did "Forget the network" in my phone, restarted by phone and still nothing. I click on my network and it just sits and spins and spins and nothing.

Hi,

I ran into the same issue today. Out of the blue, no WiFi connection.

Did the WiFi On/Off, reset the network connections, hard reboot, rebooted the router, reset the phone.....No change.

Then a new idea. Which again may or not fix your problem.

Went to the network with the problem not connecting.

Changed the IP address from DHCP to Static.

To find some of the settings, you will need use your PC.

Go to the dos promp in windows and type ipconfig /all

This will show you the defalut gateway, this is the first device that is seen on the other side of the internet, your side. Most likly it will be 192.168.1.1. This will be the number that goes in the ROUTER section.

THe IP address is the same first three numbers above, with the last number a higer numer and not being used by somethign else, I picked 192.168.1.22

Subnet mask is almost always: 255.255.255.0

DNS and the search doman (connectinon -specific DNS suffix) can be found on in the list when ipconfig /all is used.

My problem was a IP conflict that it could not fix on its own (???).

Good Luck.
