Cannot get mail.

Cannot get mail. The username or password is incorrect. Updated ipad 2 to 5.1.1 last night and have been getting this off and on all day. Now haven't been able to get mail for last 4 hours. Settings are correct. Have restarted, hard-restarted, re-entered settings, still no mail. Any help is much appreciated.

This solved my problem--I kept getting that message for all my accounts on all servers (I have three). BUT there is no x icon to delete on my OS (that doesn't appear for any "permanent" apps). I went to the bar on the bottom that has all open apps and clicked the minus sign to log out of mail. Generally the same idea. Anyway, no more error message, so thanks!

Having the same problem on the iPad with one of my gmail accounts and I don't have Comcast. I get the same message Cannot Get mail, username etc


i restarted the iPad, checked settings with google, checked settings on iPad etc. only the native apple mail client does this. My other gmail account does not and the third party mail apps do not. Any email I produce goes into the outbox and sits.
