I installed 10.7.4 on my MacPro. It rebooted just fine. No internet connection. Hmmm....check my WiFi connection and it states "No WiFi Hardware found" *** is up with that? Shutdown, waited a couple of minutes and restarted. Now nothing but a gray screen and no CD eject. Nothing. A little help would be nice.

This just happened to me too. Brand new 13" MacBook Air. Wonder if it has anything to do with having an encrypted hard drive?

Okay, I think I found a possible cause and fix. If your Mac is stuck on a gray screen on boot after installing 10.7.4, it might be due to having an FileVault 2 encrypted hard drive.
Your computer should boot now.

How did you update to 10.7.4? With Software Update? The delta installer?
Sometimes when using either of the above and there are problems, you can often resolve them by appling the Combo Update. For 10.7.4 it's here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1524
With the Combo Update, you can apply the same level on top of your current OS level/number. The trick however is you'll most likely need to boot from an external HD to run it. Alternatively, because you have other Macs, then you can also put the problematic Mac in Firewire Target Disk mode and connect it to one of your other Macs -- so the problematic Mac's HD will appear as an external HD. You can then run the combo installer on the problematic Mac's HD.
I usually use the Combo Updaters. They're bigger but seem to have few issues.
You do not need to boot to another OS volume in order to apply the combo updater. You can run it directly within the target OS X installation.

Well, the original poster said he/she sees just a gray screen on startup. In such a situation it might be a little hard to see exactly what's up and how to launch the updater from the GUI, hence the comment to boot from another volume in order to have a visible and working Finder.
As mentioned in my previous reply my problem was that the Airport in my MacBook can't "See" any wifi network, not even my iPhone's shared connection.
So I decided to make a clean install of Lion 10.7.3 from the file I saved via AppStore and the problem stills the same, hardware seems installed correctly but doesn't find nor connects if i add it manually...
So I then decided to install Snow Leopard 10.6 from the original DVD bought some years ago, and the problem persists!!!
