My volume won't work on iPhone 4s?

I'm on my iPhone 4s right now and I'm having the volume problem with slider not showing up. But every once in a while I get a second to a day of volume before it disappears again. This started happening recently and I've been on iOS 9 for a long time and it just stopped working now. Do you have any suggestions.

Restart, reset, restore. Visit apple store for diagnosis and probable DFU restore. Turn on icloud first to at least sync. You may not want to back up to icloud for restoring purposes as the problem may return if you restore from a backup. make sure your important items are backed up on your computer i.e. photos. Make a reservation online first to speedup the process.

This sounds like the same problem as a few of us are having. We are getting a stonewall from Apple at the moment.

Just oncase anyone thinks I'm being anti-Apple millitant. I'm honestly a huge fan of the products. I have been working with them for 17 years now and this is the first time that i have felt the need to be disappointed by them.

Guys if uve ever heard of the tooth brucsh trick it might work for u guys as it did for me, basicly u just need. To make sure ur charger hole and headphone hole are clear of dust, u can do this by sticking ur toothbrush in the holes and cleaning it, it also helps to blow into the holes as hard as u physically can to get all the dust out, if this works for anyone reading this post then plz spread it around

I had same problem ,I arranged for a repair on apple website they sent me a box and within a week they sent me a new phone ,my old phone was still in warranty

I tried your blowing method just for kicks and it actually worked! My volume button appeared again! Thanks so much!

I find that holding my phone upside down and sucking hard on the headphone jacks fine for me

The problem with the device is the charge port i have done many of these. Usually the repair requires you to install a new charge port.

Wow, I am not sure how it worked but I was experiencing the same problem and I blew in the charge port and in the headphone jack and my volume bar came back as well....weird!!

What I did is set a alarm on my phone with a ringer. When it goes off at least for me when I have this problem it always works and the sound in music and other apps works again.

i just recently fixed my phone using the tooth brush trick....It really works!!! I even had an apple support person try to help me and we were ready to send it back. but cleaning it with the tooth brush did the job.

I tried all and nothing worked?:( anymore suggestions?? Plzz I can only listen to music with my headphones. And can't hear nothing????
