Error 3253 when downloading anything

Starting a few weeks ago, anytime I download anything in iTunes for Windows (I mainly download apps), a large percentage of them fail with a 3253 error. I can keep clicking retry and eventually they will download. I've also found that if I disable "allow simultaneous downloads", that I don't get the errors so the problem appears to be an issue with downloading multiple things at once. I never used to have a problem with that, it just started up about 2 to 3 weeks ago.

I don't have any issues downloading apps to my iPad or iPhone, only on my PC.

I haven't made any changes to my system or router or anything. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

It turned out in my case that my memory on my hard disk was running low, around 5 GB. I was getting the same error message of reset network connection etc. and no memory low error so didn't think to check it. I cleared off 20 GB of data and now the movie seems to be downloading fine (at least I'm up to 1.83 out of 4.32 GB). I'm using a 3 TB machine. It was still showing errors with 10 GB of free space.

Although it hasn't finished downloading yet so I'm not totally convinced.

Same issue here:

Every 100-150 MB downloads are stopped.

Error popup is saying: Network is interrupted; error number is -3253.

It is the same for simultaneous downloads On or Off, just makes no difference.

Also it does not make a difference if I download music, movies or apps as long as they are hugh enough to exceed this 100 MB limit.

Internet Provider is T-Online (Deutsche Telekom),

connection 16000 DSL - thus, should be fast enough,

Router is a Speedport V504B.

OS is Version 10.7.5. and iTunes is the latest version.

HardDisc about 35-40% still free.

No clue what to do.

The support of "iTunesStore_Support@apple.com" just was to ask if I have the latest version of iTunes (yes, I have, and so I wrote in my inquiry mail - seems they haven't read it completely), to switch off simultaneous download (I did) and to link to this discussion. Thus, not really a big help.

Sad to say the problem still occurs in summer 2015. Every time there are a few apps to update one or more will fail to download. Yet others will download just fine. Just retrying the download works so clearly the settings are not at fault or why would it suddenly work fine with the same settings. The connection is likely reset at the Apple servers end IMHO.
