Calendars not syncing on iPhone 4S

A few days ago I realized that events created on my home Mac were no longer syncing through iCloud to my phone. This had been working perfectly through MobileMe since November (when I purchased the phone), and also on iCloud after I made the switch in March. It seems that the problems arrived in mid-May with the release and update to iOS 5.1.1, which seems to have solved my iCloud battery drain issue by making it not sync at all anymore.

I know I'm not the only person experiencing problems with iCloud syncing, but I'm not seeing this problem specifically in the discussions. It has basically rendered my phone's calendar completely useless, as entries are not syncing to or from the phone, and this is a serious problem for usage. I've tried and tested all the standard fixes such as restarting, forcing refreshes, turning off/on iCloud, etc. with no results (or an occasional event syncing, but not the majority).

All syncing is working across my other devices (iMac, MacBook, and iCloud.com).

Is there any fix to this, or do I just have to wait for iOS 6 and pray?

Isn't that always the way things go. So not two minutes after I posted this question I found the culprit that was causing my problem.

My phone was set to sync "Events 2 Weeks Back", which apparently doesn't sync anything past that point (useful, huh?). Switching this setting (Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Calendars>Sync) to "All Events" immediately caused all of my events to show up, although it seems I may have lost some events created on my phone in the process.

Not a huge deal though, and maybe this will help someone else, as I haven't seen this setting mentioned in the other troubleshooting posts.

I have spent hours trying different things... This is the asnwer....

Why isn't everyone having the same issue..

I tried this but still no dice, my Calendars in the Icloud still wont show up on my Iphone. thanks for the info though

I had one calendar that stopped syncing and the after deletion and restore (by turning iCloud off and then back on), showed no events on my iOS devices (but was fine on iCloud and Mac).

This solution - setting sync to 'All Events' on my iOS devices made it work instantly.

I set the sync setting to 'All Events' on my iPhone and iPad and all now works, following a test across all devices.

Thank you so much!... finally after two long nights and a few restore processes, I got the solution... in fact a workaround to a bug that Apple has to fix...but anyways...now I can get some sleep... 🙂

Bless you Dude! Have spent hours trying to figure this out on my own, went to the "Genius Bar" and they gave up after 45 minutes. "synch all contacts" worked for me too!!!!!!! Happy, Happy!!!

Thanks for the tip. I managed to miss a meeting this morning, found it wasn't on my iPhone but was on both my Work & Home Macs. Sure enough when I set to Sync "All Event" the meeting showed up on my iPhone.
