I've noticed that some posters answer their own question and give themselves points.


How/Why is this allowed?


This would artificially inflate ones standing in the community.

It is allowed to mark your own replies as 'correct' or 'helpful' as they might actually be so, but you don't get any points from them - you can only get points from correct or helpful on other people's threads.
