"Manage My Places" not displaying maps

In Manage My Places I click on any place in the list, and no map is displayed. This just began, perhaps since upgrading to Lion. I've worked with iPhoto since then, but perhaps not with Manage My Places.

This is the latest version of iPhoto, latest update. I update iPhoto religiously, because I continue to hope, all evidence to the contrary, than each update will squash the many bugs which Apple seems to have built into iPhoto.

Hi Larry,

Yes I tried the format from iphoto11 but the entry reverted to the last town I have added.

The best would be that the described dragging a pin to the map next to a known town would work.

BTW, also the globe view of places does not work. Sometimes I see a portion of a map and then after less than one second, it disappears to one pin. So it seems not completely broken :-/

Best,

Lars

Hi, I have exactly the same problem with iPhoto'09 (version 8.1.2) on Mac OS X 10.7.5. Unfortunately I cannot upgrade OS X, because a newer version is not supported for my hardware and so I cannot upgrade iPhoto as well.

With iPhoto version 9.6.1 on OS X 10.11.1 it works. However I manage my photos still with the old version on my old Mac Pro, because I don't want to put my private photos on my Mac Book, which is used for business purpose only.

So is there a way to get the map back?

iPhoto 09 was released in the autumn on 2008, that is, more than seven years ago.

The alternative was simple: upgrade to iPhoto 11, that was possible at any point in the last 4 years.

Once 11 was released, development of 09 ceased. Now 11 is no longer developed either. iPhoto is replaced with the new Photos.app.

So, in answer to your specific question, no.
