Deleted emails in Apple Mail IMAP account reappear after deleted

Ok so this has been driving me NUTS!

I have an IMAP email account set up within my apple mail program and I am having a strange case where emails are reappearing in my inbox (marked as read) after I have deleted them!!!! So I start my day going through emails, replying, organizing, deleting, etc. then I do something else - come back and they have all re-appeared! Its like spam email **** - I have to go through all my emails 3-4 times a day!

The account is an IMAP from GoDaddy

Under Mailbox Behaviors I tried unchecking "store deleted messages on server" (found that somewhere online) but it didnt help :/

I was one of the early ones who reported that unchecking the idle command worked. And it did for a few months. But recently a load of deleted emails dumped back into my inbox. When I called Go Daddy they ran a procedure that has handled it for now. We shall see. They've done thus procedure before and it was only a matter of time before my deleted emails started coming back in again.

A few weeks ago Godaddy claimed that the bug is a "recent" problem. They expanded the definition of "recent" when I pointed out the existence of this discussion thread.

Godaddy IMAP mail actually behaves like POP3 mail. It makes no difference whether the clients run Windows, Mac OS, Android, or iOS. The idle command does not fix this. No client setting can, since the server does not behave correctly. The only solution is to transfer accounts to a company that delivers what it sells.

My go daddy IMAP works perfectly on all my computers and devices...but my wife's IMAP account will not sync properly on her computer with apple mail 6.2. I have tried everything so I think I will give go daddy a call too. I actually have two go daddy IMAP emails and both work great so I am thinking it is a go daddy problem because it's just my wife's go daddy IMAP that won't sync correctly.

Yep same thing happened to me. I unchecked the idel command and that seemed to work for a couple of months and now just recently it has stopped working and all deleted emails are coming back. Arggghhhh! I ring apple -they tell me its' godaddy and I ring godaddy and they give me some lame excuse. I have 2 websites sitting on their servers and I don't want to move. What else can I do?

Ok. My wife's imap email account from GoDaddy would not sync correctly for the last 6 months. My GoDaddy imap emails were syncing fine. Her emails sync great on her iPhone but not on Apple Mail. I've tried everyone's ideas and nothing works. I finally called GoDaddy today and talked with one support tech and he had no idea what to do....then I had a thought about deleting her email account in GoDaddy and then recreating it....but I had to call GoDaddy to make sure her emails would still be on the server. He said they would but he didn't want me to do that so I explained why I wanted to to do that. He said he noticed something on their end that wasn't right. He told me he had an advance technician reset something to make the sync start working. Whatever he did worked perfectly. Just had to quit Apple Mail and reopen Apple mail and everything started syncing perfectly. Just did this today so I will have to wait and see if this will fix the problem long term but I think it will. I asked him if I had this problem again and called up if they could look at my call history and know what he did to fix the problem. He said they could make the same fix again if needed. So if any of you want to call GoDaddy and see if they can do the same for you, it is worth a shot.

This is extremely frustrating. Emails keep coming back regardless of if I move/delete them via my Mac or iPhone.

Most of the times a DELETE or MOVE via webmail stays deleted or moved.

Recently, I even have to delete/move some of them on both the iPhone and MAC.

Aaaaaaahhhhhhhh!

I find the same thing happening with GMAIL as well as two accounts hosted by GoDaddy, so I'm guessing the problem in on the Apple side.

Any more clues, pointers or suggestions?
