Hi,

I got it working after few steps. Here's how:

1. Get device's IP address. It should be printed on paper when

"(Cancel or Stop/Clear) -button" is held down for 5 secs. Did not work for me thought. Got the IP address from Samsung's "Easy Printer Manager" after I installed printer through USB. For me it was 169.254.112.195 ( maybe it is the default )

2. Change your MacBook to use the Samsung's own adhoc-WLAN. On OSX Wi-fi list there was SSID "sthrough" or similar ( can't remember anymore ) under "Device" -section.

3. Now connect to the Syncthrough Website http://169.254.112.195/sws/index.html ( use the IP you got in item 1. )

4. Login as admin ( password is in the installation guide or google, I guess I can't write it here )

5. Configure the Device's Network settings to use your own WLAN with correct SSID and password. You can choose your WLAN's SSID from the settings list ( good way to check that Samsung sees your WLAN )

6. Apply and http-connection is lost.

7. Add printer with OSX tools. If you can't find it Restart printer ( I did this just to be sure that it refreshes the connection to my WLAN )

Note: Not sure if you need to install Samsung's drivers from the installation disc. I did while troubleshooting.

Optional: Add the device's MAC address to your AirPort Extreme's allowed clients -list. ( If you use this feature )

The software is a joke. My husband installed it and there is no way to connect wirelessly through it. I did not install the software on my Mac (Macbook,OS X 10.8.4) and this worked for me:

Connecting in PBC mode

1 Press and hold the (WPS) button on the control panel for more than

2 seconds. The machine starts waiting for up to two minutes until you press the WPS

(PBC) button on the access point (or wireless router).

2 Press the WPS (PBC) button on the access point (or wireless router).

This is from the full manual for the printer from here: http://mypdfmanuals.com/dref/4121800

Hi, I have this disconnecting problem and tried very different options of wireless configurations with no luck, the printer NEVER wakes up after going in stand-by mode.

I think the problem is between it and the router config I have. My router is a D-Link DI-524, used as an access point (it repeats another router signal) where the security is under a WPA-PSK. I tried to set an static IP for the printer, no luck. I tried to set it as an ad-hoc, but this is only possible with a WEP code, not with WPA-PSK.

Can you help me please?

Thanks.

My OS is 10.1.9 and I have installed the Samsung ML-2165W printer software.

I decided to not risk the wireless connnection and when setting up, chose the USB connection option.

Still, there are problems. The connection with my Macbook Pro is erratic. Sometimes is says "the printer is not connected", even though it physically is.

When it ran out of paper, it was not a matter of just loading up the tray to resume printing. The printer needed coaxing (ie disconnecting it, opening and shutting the printer tray, then rebooting the computer).

In fact I have spent endless hours since purchasing this printer yesterday. Sometimes it co-operates and prints and sometimes it does not, and I have to go through endless experiments just to get it to function again.

I wanted a "plug and print" solution to my small printing requirements.

Maybe in time I will be able to figure out this printer.

Here's hoping.
