MacBook Pro Retina display burn-in?

I first noticed this after my MBP [Retina] had gone to sleep, but: when returning to the login screen (since I have it set to require a password whenever the computer is idle long enough) I noticed what appeared to a very faint ghosting primarily noticeable on darker backgrounds.

After messing around with it a bit, there seems to be a fairly consistent in-display ghosting that occurs without much time at all; I was able to leave my screen on (a little above half-brightness) for about 10-15 minutes and the ghosted "burn" would be of the screen I left it on (which I deliberately reconfigured so that everything would be a new position).

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a normal thing that I just have to get used to? It's not really noticeable at all in standard use.

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), Mac OS X (10.7.4)

I guess there is no way to tell what screen you have just based on the serial #? I've heard no other mention of Samsung supplying these panels anywhere else on the web but in this thread.

You guys think that it's basically the LG screens = crap versus the Samsung? I wonder if you can request a new system specifically with the Samsung screen if you end up with this issue and it happens to be an LG screen.

Well, I hoped not to have to be post again but here I find myself.

The burn-in issue IS FIXED with the new machine (which has a Samsung screen). However, it has two "spots" on it which I am guessing are dead pixels.

I'm not really sure how to proceed. I have called Apple and they are willing to arrange another replacement. I'm really not sure what to do.

The ghosting being gone is greatas it really was an issue but I cannot decide if the pixel issues warrant another replacement.

There are two spots. The first one is top right of the screen about 5mm in from the edge and 15mm down from the top, it must be a single pixel that's dead (dark) as it's a very small point.

The second is on the left edge of the screen about half way up and 20mm in. This must be a small cluster of pixels dead (again dark) as it seems to be larger and more obvious.

What do you guys think? Now that I've seen them I can't help but look at them!!! 😢

Maybe 3rd time will be a charm? 😕
