Retina MBP - visual glitches after returning from sleep

On the new Retina MBP (using the highest res setting), I'm noticing that there are significant visual glitches (ghosting, persistent blocks, lack of redraw, etc...) upon returning from sleep.

Is anyone else seeing this problem?

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), Mac OS X (10.7.4)

I spoke to a genius today. He said they have seen some of these visual glitches come through. Its a software issue. No word on a solution, but I expect it will come with the new OS and/or as software updates for the new display.

I am still getting a replacement due to some burn-in just above the dock to the right of center on my screen. It only takes about 30 seconds and I get an image burned into a 2 inch^2 section of the screen. It will take about 3-4 weeks, but I get to hang on to my current one.

This is all very worrying. I ordered mine this week and my concern is about the 2 week timeframe we have to return it.

If for whatever reason they had to exchange it, by the time I get the replacement it would take weeks and I coud end up for a $3000+ lemon.

Also, does anyone know when exactly those two weeks start? From the moment we place the order?

Thank you,

DC

hi,

From the moment that you get your product. I read some where around in Apple website since I was looking for a 14-day return policy for fully refund. And it makes sense because they say if you are not satisfy with what you bought or if it's not what you expected to be you can return it within 14 days.

You can say anything about product you bought while it's on its way.

[I returned mine a week ago, it was 15-inch MBP late 2011 because I fell in love with retina once they announced it. But I'm getting worry now]

Hey,

Recieved my MacBook Pro Retina today, and everything is working briliantly with it. Apart from I have experienced this excat issue. I appear to be having it where it affects the whole screen after sleep, and it is persistant, activating expose etc only temporarliy fixes it.

I have not used the migration assistant or anything, so this is a totally fresh install.

Is this something that I should worry about? or will it be fixed by a update?

I phoned support this morning, they talked me through resetting the SMC and PRAM. They also said that at the minute this isn't a known issue with the Retina model. We both did agree that it sounds more like a software issue rather than hardware.

Will have to see if an update fixes it, or if we have to wait for Mountain Lion 🙂

I haven't changed anything and it hasn't happened in a week. I still run scaling at one above best and I haven't uninstalled or reinstalled anything. I also transferred my settings/apps over from a time machine backup to setup my machine.

I did notice an app I use called StockSpy seemed to be responsible for a video glitch that is quite different from this one. It was kind of like one of those scrambled picture puzzles. Its been almost a week since that's happened as well.

Though this is not the iPad 5 forum, I have been experiencing similar problems while playing with my new iPad 5. I was trying to find out if I had done something wrong...a newbie to Apple products. I am still not sure what the problems are...I have not tried to take pictures or anything...I did do a reset of the iPad 5 and let it reconfigure...I am still testing...I do have 30 years of other computer software/hardware experience...
