Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.

Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

http://www.rarlab.com/

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").

Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.

Does it install properly for you? If so, does iTunes launch properly now?

If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

The problem is caused because a specific version of the Visual C++ 2005 CRT dlls is missing, namely 8.0.50727.6195.

I actually found this thread when I encountered the problem on Windows 10. Fortunately I have a solution as well 🙂.

Version 8.0.50727.6195 is not included in "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x64)" or in the SP1 version,

but in "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update":

Install that & iTunes should work.

Hope that helps

You are a saint! I was having identical issues with installing ICloud after a Windows 10 reinstall on my machine. After about four hours of installing various ,net and other items with no affect, I used your suggested winrar technique. Interestingly, double clicking the AppleApplicationSupport.msi file still resulted in the error, but double clicking the iCloud64.msi file worked! Thanks so much.
