plug it into your computer and see if it connects to your computer. If it does and your phone still is unresponsive restore it.

please help!! i reset my iphone yesterday, i wasnt able to get my back up, so i started it as a new iphone. today i went on instagram and sent a picture to fb and the phone shut off on me and wont come back on. i hook the phone up to the computer and its still not responding to the computer

Did you follow wjosten's advice above?
Reset it:
Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.
