I can make a new ID but that would mean the things I have bought on my old ID will not be free anymore I have to double PAY!!

    Which is stupid!

ABSOLUTELY REDICULOUS!!!!!! So much for apple and it's great customer support. Android is looking more appealing to me now. This never should have been an issue.

i got that same thing! how am i supposed to reset my answer if i dont even know it!

Even calling doesn't work. I just got off the phone with Eric, who's a supervisor, and I am STILL locked out.

In order to regain access you have to answer two of three options correctly. Those options are:

    1. Serial number - no problem

    2. Billing credit card - big problem, because my account is set to PayPal

    3. Security questions - which I don't know, and the reason I CALLED in the first place

There is NO WAY to answer these questions and recover my account and get back my THOUSANDS of dollars worth of purchases!

When trying to elevate the case, I was told the buck stops there at Eric.

At this point I'm posting a complaint, emailing their CEO, and every other email address I can find.

    This is absolutely RIDICULOUS!!!!

I am also having the same problem.  Apple get your act together.  I am in Australia has anyone gone into one of the apple shops with this problem?

    My situation is now resolved!

Apple has set up a very specific policy for security now. You WILL have to call them, but before you do, make sure you have the following:

1- an iDevice, preferably one that HAS been linked to iTunes before.

2- your account's credit card info (If your account is set to PayPal, and you will have to change this through iTunes software 24 hours before calling them)

    3- patience

My account had glitches the first two times I called, but through emailing them about it as well, I got a call from somebody at Apple that was able to act as a middleman with Account Security, and get me taken care of.

I am stuck in this very same situation and apple cannot help (called the support, went to an apple store) the only solution they offer is to add a credit card, sorry but I do not one one and my debit card is apparently not accepted by Apple!

You have my phone on record, you have the Serial of the Mac I use for iTunes, you have the serial of my iPhone 5, you have 3 of my e-mail address, whay should I be FORCED to add a Credit Card?

I'm in the UK. I'm now locked out of my iTunes account until I set up questions and answers.

The problem is all the questions are aimed at teenagers, I'm nearly 50 I have no idea what any of my infants school teachers were called and I didn't like any of them so I certainly dont have a favourite.

It just seems insane to force people to use a set of questions so irrelevant to them they have no chance of remembering them and are going to get locked out of their accounts in fairly short order.

Why not use general questions any age, or other group, can relate to?

I've had an idea, does anyone know if it matters if you just have the same answer for all the questions?

I figure they wouldn't let you do that so supposing you had Same answer 1, Same answer 2 etc that would at least give you some chance of getting it right in a few goes?

    Doesn't matter.

The answer could be "42" though there may be a minimum character limit.

If you did not like any of your teachers your answer could be "I did not like any of my teachers". Just be aware that this answer is different from "I didn't like any of them".

I agree, the questions are completely inappropriate for an uneducated, unmarried, childless, unemployed, illiterate, destitute and homeless hermit. I can only assume Apple has chosen to neglect that lucrative market.

    Hi ,

    I am in Australia.

My problem has finally been solved.

I call this number 1-300-321-456 - ask for Accounts security advisor. Be aware that they may take 10 to 15 mins and put you on hold.

Then the accounts security advisors wants you to guess three answers in a couple of tries. just to see if any one answer is correct.. Otherwise they will take some other measures to know this is actually your account.. which is pretty annoying

Anyways they take around 45 mins or so .. so you should have credit in your cell or home number to actually wait that long..

but it worked .. they made me reset all my answers again.. and set up a rescue email right when you are answering your questions then it will work better.. otherwise i think setting a rescue email afterwards doesnt work.. or it didnt work for me.
