Forced Apple ID Security Questions - Choice of 3

When trying to download apps onto my ipod touch, 4th Gen it displays an "Improve Apple ID Security" message and asks me to choose 3 security questions. It only allows me to choose 2 of the questions, and fails to respond when I click the 3rd question. As a result I am unable to download anything from the App Store! 😠 Any assistance gratefully appreciated.

iPod touch, iOS 5.1.1

None of these solutions work for me. This must be one of the most ridiculous situations I've come across.

Even to download a free app you are forced to enter your password (in my case a complex one) at least twice and despite the fact that you're forced to use an email address for your ID you can't use the same one for communication.

This doesn't look like anything to do with security (if security is that important to Apple I'd like to know why they've missed so many security features in the OS), it just looks like another attempt to get more personal information out of users.

If this continues I'll be moving away from iOS for my next device.

I had same problem too. When I tried set my questions, I saw on IPAD 4 only blank screen with no possibilities. But when I touch AND HOLD finger on choose question area for a while, then I can set what I need.Even I alraedy set all at my native language different questins through PC before... I HATE APPLE, I see no reason to pay for some fruit logo twice more and get NOTHING extra and start to been limited compared to PC/Android ... GO ANDROID GO GO GO !!!

Thanks to the "Apple Support Communities Use Agreement", I cannot say what I really think about the 3 questions without my post being removed for at least 3 different reasons. Needless to say, my feelings are probably shared by many. Please if anyone from apple reads this - you are not protecting anyone by making it harder to install apps, you are just making people less likely to use your service. My first response to your three questions was to look for an alternative to the app store / iphone. I don't think it defamatory to mention the billions lost by apple lately...

OK the answer to this is simple and has been posted by others but it's worth repeating as this little bug has kept my girlfriend and I busy for the last hour.

So this works for the latest iPad Mini so I hope works for other devices too - very simply hold the question tab down for 3 seconds or so - when you lift your finger up the menu of questions will appear. If you just tap the question tab (the natural thing to do) then you'll just be left with a blank screen and will have to do the entire thing all over again.

Now I simply can't believe this can't be fixed super quickly by Apple (in fact I know it can). Please Apple do something about this as this is MAJOR flaw.

I'm having the same problem on my ipad mini. I try to download an app, and the "Improve Apple ID Security" thing pops up, says to choose 3 security Q&A. If I hit "not now," then it just keeps popping up every time I try to install an app. If I hit "continue," it makes me enter my password, then takes me to the screen to create questions. When I hit the button to create a question, it just goes to a totally blank, white square. I can't create the questions.

I tried logging in to My Apple ID on my computer, to see if I could create the 3 questions & answers there. Doesn't seem to be possible...in the security settings it just shows the one security question that I already created.

Has anyone found a solution to this particular problem?

I'll post this again,

Hi all! I have found the answer in another forum and this has 100% worked for me!!!

1) Quit App Store in multi-tasking.

•From the Home screen, click the Home button twice.

•Tap and hold on the app.

•When it starts to jiggle, tap the red ⛔ in the top corner to close it;

***Please close all open apps on your phone***

2) Tap Settings.

3) Tap Safari.

4) Tap Clear History.

5) Tap the Clear History button.

6) Tap Clear Cookies and Data.

7) Tap the Clear Cookies and Data button

See the answer in context

I hope this helps a lot of people!! Spread the word (seeing as apple doesn't seem to want to/care!)
