MacBook Pro 16GB RAM 1600Mhz

Hi, I have a 13" late 2011 @ 2,4GHz i5 and I have bought 16GB RAM @1600Mhz.

I was wonderring if the 1600MHz RAM would work because I've seen people with it working just fine. Now I'm asking this because if I just spend 150 bucks for nothing I'll be p*ssed! And don't forget my MBP is a 13 inch not a 15!!

Thanks,

Thomas

Its pretty simple, do a benchmark with what you have currently. Then benchmark with the new ram. The notion that you would "break" anything is ludicrous. Apple has cultivated a specific group of customers that has but little understanding of computers. Verdict; the chipset is capable of these speeds and will support the memory, if you will be able to see any difference is doubtful. The speeds are too close together for any noticable gains. If you want to spend your money wisely get a SSD. http://compreviews.about.com/od/cpus/a/RAMGuidePt2.htm

I 've just upgraded my Macbook Pro with a new RAM memory. From the company I bought it from I purchased DDR3 1333MHZ 4 GB 204 sodimi unbuffered.I substituted my Ram and even my hard drive with a new one. After substituting these two components and installing my licensed LION /from about Mac information?/ I see that the RAM I am using is working at 1600 MHz.Is this making problems to Mac book pro and can it work properly with this RAM memory?

I think this from the company make a mistake ... and the computer WORK very very very GOOD and very FAST ... I think they gave to me :

DDR3, 1600MHz 4GB 1x204 SODIMM, Unbuffered, 9-9-9-24, SODIMM, Black PCB, 1.5V, Intel 2nd Generation Intel Core™ ™ i5 and i7 Processor platforms only and I think Its work becouse I got this and its work properly good ....this is from trade mark CORSAIR

Becouse they have it in they are price list .... and this is RAM MEMMORY that I CAN US... I think sooooo becouse voltage is the same .... and it is for this platform I5

You can use 16gb ram at 1600Mhz, but the problem is if you're prepared for many Kernel panics, over heating

within the unibody of your 13.3 inch MacBook Pro, and other internal problems then go for it. I tried the 16gb ram

at 1600Mhz in my late 2011 MacBook pro 15.4 inch and it still caused Kernel Panics, so I went and bought online

16gb ram at 1333Mhz from OWC, it's a fantastic website, so clear, and the 16gb 1333Mhz ram ended up working

perfectly without causing any internal panics.

Below is a link to the website I purchased the memory from:

( Copy the link into the tool bar and hope you enjoy the ram, if you do purchase it of course. )

It is possible to overclock on mac using a software called, Bootcamp which allready comes installed within your

Mac, or Parallels Desktop 6 (or the newer version, Parallels Desktop 7) which also allows to run windows on mac.

Then once you have one of those three softwares ready to use with Windows 7 running allready, install an

overclocking software from a website, which can have .exe on the back of the file name.

( I tried it, it works on mine. )
