Are you using the multi-touch trackpad or a separate mouse (Bluetooth/USB)?
Does the problem only occur when in iMovie?
What are you attempting to do when this happens?
Just trying to get some more information to further assist you, thanks.
No, the Disk Utility, if used correctly, will not harm your hard drive. It simply fixes small (or large) problems with the structure or the drive.
So what exactly do I have to type or do?
Just click verify disk and if it tells your that it needs repairing, click repair disk.
As far as the Control + Click, I do not understand. If you mean that is how you deleted the iMovie projects when it first started acting weird, then no. Control clicking is perfectly alright to do.
Sorry so how do you get there exactly.
I am so sorry for putting a hastle on you or wasting your time with more problems.
That's what I meant
It's fine. This is what I do when I am bored and it's 3:20 am..Ha.
Open your Applications folder and find the Utilities folder inside. Once the Utilities folder is open, open the Disk Utility application.
After the application has been opened, select the top-most drive in the left hand column. From there you should see a button that says "Verify Disk". click it, and allow it to run the verification process.
(refer the the above image)
One more thing. You know how normally when you press on the little app symbol in the dock it opens automatocally or shows you the application if you already have it open.
Ok. Then what.
Yes?
Well it isn't working.
Then if your disk needs repair click "Repair Disk"
If it does not need repair (no red text saying it needs repair) You are free to leave the application.
If you don't need to repair the disk, I am sorry, but I do not know how to further assist you in repairing iMovie.
It doesn't work but thank-you for solving my first problem that was a great help. 🙂
The same application? iMovie?
If yes, then lets try to find any background processes in the Activity Monitor
Open back up the Utilities folder inside the Applications folder and select the Activity Monitor applicaiton.
Under the list "Process name" look for the application in question (I used iMovie as my example for the image), and select that application. Then click the Quit Process button in the top left followed by the force click button in the drop-down box
You're welcome. Again, sorry for not being able to complete resolve the issue. Have a nice night/evening.
I force quited it and now I will re-open it to check if the the deleted items that i deleted from the username-movies-imovie-and then my projet helped. Thank-you Matthew McAlister
