I can't access my yahoo mail on my iPhone. I get the error message...."The connection to the server "apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com" on port 993 timed out"......is the apple server having issues? anyone else have this problem?

I am having this problem as well..started this morning. I suspect it's a Yahoo issue. I was able to sign in to my Yahoo email account through my desktop, but could not access the account through the mobile site or through the mail app on the iPhone. I chatted with a Yahoo support representative for about an hour and he was able to restore access to my mail through the mobile website, but the problem (incorrect username/password) continues on the mail app. He was trying to suggest the mail app on my phone had been corrupted, but my two other email accounts on the app are working perfectly. This is really irritating, and they made no mention that others are experiencing the same problem. He told me there was nothing else he could do to help me. I hope this is an issue they resolve quickly. Please report if you get a resolution to the problem.
I was having a problem as well and the I found the answer. I could not delete my mail icon because it was already on at the bottom when purchased.
If you go to http://account.live.com/AppPwd and sign in first on your computer and then follow the instructions it will give you a password to put in the setting under Mail, Contacts, Calendars. I hope this is helpful. Have a wonderful day. Let know if this works.
I had this problem. It was solved by setting up two stage verification on yahoo under account settings, security. Then I selected to allow allow apps that use less secure sign-in. You can select to obtain a passcode for Iphone mail. I then followed the apple iphone set up again. This time it required me to put in the code that yahoo generated. I put that in and it worked. I then deselected two stage verification on yahoo and it now just works fine.
I've spent hours and hours trying to fix this glitch in the matrix of a problem, read countless forums and threads and did everything suggested to no avail. Finally late last night I came across your post and turns out it was the key to Triton's undoing. I have yahoo mail once again! U my friend are the light at the end of the tunnel. You are genius, dlasc! I've spent so many hours and tried so many variations without realising that I needed to ask Yahoo to generate a new password just for the iPhone (and for all other devices for this matter) via 2-step login option, which is poorly documented and was not made aware to a lot of people like me.
