You'll need to connect it to the iTunes library you normally sync it with and restore it. If iTunes asks you for this passcode before it will let you proceed, connect the iPod to iTunes in recovery mode instead using the instructions in this Apple support document.

Just offering another possible solution:

Tonite my daughter's iPod was locked for 324,989,946 minutes and after plugging it into my laptop, I then got a new message saying: " this ipod has not been synched into a computer in more than 4 weeks and has been locked."

But at that point, when I slide to turn on the iPod, it prompted me with the passcode "without any time restraint" which is good. I entered the wrong passcode by accident, and not it's giving me 60 minutes to try again...... much better than 324,989,946 minutes.

Now I have the Right passcode..... and I am ready and waiting another 29 minutes! lol

Good luck to all!

Thought that I should post on here that your solution helped me. My son was trying to get into my ipod (5th generation) and disabled it for 45 years. I had to put it in recovery mode and wipe the device. Music can be replaced. An expensive device? Not sure if I was going to buy another one. Thanks for your help! Keep sharing good information, it makes the world a better and much smarter place to live!

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201263

and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204306

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

For how to restore:

Use iTunes to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201252

To restore from backup see:

Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204184

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201272

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
