The last time I updated my vault after upgrading to 3.3, the vault is now almost 200 gb bigger than my library. How is this possible? What is going on? I updated again to 3.3.1 but nothing changed.

The empty folders were soon cleared out by housekeeping. After more analysis the 300 or so previews Aperture stores in library, I can see they are only ones with versions, or .mov files.
I suggest that Vault creating full size previews of all the rest is a possible bug.
