iPhoto to Aperture

How do I either export my iPhoto library into Aperture or import it from iPhoto. I suspect I have to export it to a folder on my desktop. Maybe someone knows a one-step process?

Upgrade to iPhoto 9.3 and Aperture 3.3 and they will use the exact same library. No import necessary.

Actually looking back again over the thread you wrote

I have a 2TB external HD myself that I've been working with and didn't even physically partition it for time machine. I just moved the new libraries into it and then deleted them from my main Apt library and my computer's HD.

which indicates you have both your Aperture libraries and TM backup on the same drive.

Message was edited by: Frank Caggiano - OK just saw your last post. But you did write new libraries so I assumned they were your current libraries.

To both Ken30 and Blackbelly

putting both the backups and the live files on the same drive even if on different partitions is a very bad idea. If the drive fails you will loose both your current work and your backups.

That was my initial idea. So maybe I should get 2 external and use one (1TB) for Aperture (2TB) for time machine and partitioned to backup the 1TB external. Or use my 1TB internal and just backup with the 2TB external. My Ap file is only abot 60 GB right now.
