Screen Brightness on Windows 8 - Macbook Pro

I wanted to check out Windows 8 so i decided to install it using Bootcamp on my Macbook Pro. I installed it successfuly, along with the Windows Bootcamp drivers, but my Display is VERY dim, the brightness is all the way up to the Mac. I rebooted the Macbook Pro and ran OSX and the brightness is fine, but on windows is very very dim and idk how to fix it. Can anyone help me out here?

Thanks for the solution, PapillonStudios! Been wondering about this since I got my new MBP back in January but hadn't taken the time to look for a solution. You had me "fixed" in about 10 minutes (had to figure out that when you search in Metro (by pressing the Command/Windows Key and just typing something) you have to select "Settings" instead of the default "Apps". Thanks again!

It's easier.

1. Go to the battery on the bottom right next to your clock and click power option or Go to Control Panel and Power Options.

2. In the plan selected click on " Change plan settings" and then " Change Advance Power Settings"

3. Under Display drop menu, turn off the " Enable adaptive brightness".

That's all. Enjoy. 😝

After hours of trying to fix this problem your answer worked. If we were in prison I would protect you in the shower!

Hi,

Here is what helped me:

I have a MacBook pro 2011 running windows 8.1. After installing windows, my screen brightness was all the way up and hurting my eyes, and would not change, no matter what I did. I did not install any devices, and happened upon this fix by accident.

1. go to your desktop screen and right click. On the options menu that comes up check Screen Resolution.

2. on the Screen Resolutions Page click on Advanced Settings.

3. the Generic PnP and NVIDIA GeForce 320M screen should pop up. When it does, click on the Properties button.

4. The new pop up window will say 'NVIDIA GeForce 320M Properties. Now click on the Driver tab.

5. After clicking on Driver, you will see buttons along the left side. Click on the last button. It will say Uninstall. {To uninstall the driver - Advanced}.

I let the computer uninstall the software. My screen flickered on and off 2 times, and when it came up, the screen was darker. I then checked my brightness settings by moving the brightness up and down, and it worked!!! I honestly hope this works for you, too!
