How to permanently disable voice control

To Meg St._Clair and himguyy. Your last many messages have done nothing to help with the discussion at hand. Mean-tempered banter really should be done elsewhere. Kindly take your anger and accusations off this forum. I suspect that you both know better--this is not the place for the back-and-forth argument.

Users on this forum can only help other users within the limitations of current iOS/iPhone/iTunes functionality. Nothing more. And Apple isn't paying much, if any, attention to the clamor here. The only option is to complain directly to Apple. If enough people do so, Apple may deign to make a change. Or probably not, given the attitude that led to removal of the headphone jack. The only option that remains if the latter is Apple's course is to switch to a brand/model that better meets one's needs. And if one wants to bother, one can tell Apple why one left their ecosystem.

This has no effect on either Siri or Voice Control. Reachability is the feature that if allows you to touch the home button twice to slide the screen down.

Because changing the reachability setting will NOT disable Voice Control. The only way to disable Voice Control is to enable Siri. What is more likely to have happened is you got used to the Home button and aren't accidentally invoking Voice Control any more.

I had same problem, and it was annoying me. I searched a lot to fix this, but accidently I found how to do it. Here is the way: Settings->General->Accessability->Home Button->in "PRESS AND HOLD TO SPEAK" part choose Off and thats it

Yup, Apple just added this setting. I suspect that you have all the people who submitted feedback to thank!

settings> general> accesbilty. make sure the triple click home option doens't have voice over on it. Also make sure voice over is off... but there isn't a way to perm. take it off

In that case enabling Siri might the best option. But in my (dutch) iPhone 6 with 10.0.1 (14A403) Siri isn't where you say she is. How can I then enable Siri?

I just purchased my iPhone 4, and did not think it was uplifting to have to wait for the iPhone 5 .. ;-) Thanks for your feedback

Settings>General>Passcode Lock> enter Passcode>Voice Dial off. This will still allow voice control to be activated but will not inadvertantly dial any phone numbers.

do you have to have a passcode on iPhone? never knew that lol

ive never had one but on ipod touch you don't need one

Don't lean on the home button? I have never found this to be a problem. Try to find how you are pressing the home button long enough to engage your problem, and figure an alternative behaviour.
