Cannot send message: This message cannot be sent at this time (iCloud webmail)

I recieve emails with no issues; however, I cannot send email when I log into webmail at iCloud.com (with or without attachments). I can send email from my iPhone, iPad, and using the Mail app on my iMac, but not when logged directly into my iCloud account through Safari. What gives? 😕

Mac OS X (10.7.4), Safari Version 5.1.7 (7534.57.2)

I just started getting this today. I was able to send email a few hours ago and now I keep getting this on at least two different machines.
I've reinstalled Java
I've reset Safari
I've tried Chrome.
But I keep getting the same Message.

Honestly, this is the most disappointing experiences I've ever had with Apple. I rely on this for work and I'm currently bogged down and halted in a waiting pattern because iCloud "cannot send message at this time".
In a word, pathetic.

If by monday this hasn't resolved itself, I'm switching to Gmail and not looking back.

I had the same problem. I'm using Chrome. I tried my IE and it worked with no issues on the same computer. So I figured it was something to do with Chrome. I logged out, cleared my browser history, logged back in and it worked with no issues. In the browser history purge, I took the default settings to purge. Hope that helps.

I am having this same problem with increasing frequency. I'm using Safari on an iMac to access my mail when this happens. Latest versions of everything.

Generally, logging out of iCloud and logging right back in will fix the problem. That doesn't make it any less of an inconvenience or less irritating. I'd say close to 100% of my first tries to send emails end with this error message. It also, in this mode, cannot save drafts, so I have to select-all and copy the lengthy email replies I've written and paste them into a text document for later retrieval once I'm able to successfully get an email out.

Sometimes it takes multiple tries logging in and out of iCloud before I can send anything.

I'm having the problem now on IE and Chrome. Same solution for both - logout, close icloud window, delete history - fixed. At first I experienced this on Chrome only, but that's because I was only using Chrome for icloud. Now that IE works with icloud - I'm having the same issue on IE. Tried using "incognito" feature of Chrome so no history was kept - thinking that would resolve the issue, but for some reason, "incognito" is not working now with Chrome.
