iTunes match error 4010

We are having problems with iTunes Match, it keeps errors with code 4010. We are using the iCloud for ministry and it has caused some problems obtaining our songs. Is there a simple fix or is this an internal iTunes problem that Apple will have to fix?

I just spoke to Apple Support on the phone and the representative told me that she was "just told this weekend" that there is a "system outage" of the Itunes Match and that they are looking into it but do not have a fix yet.

No time frame. I told her, aside from the inconvenience of the problem, it would be good if they posted some kind of official notification as it seems many, many questions about this with nothing that I can find on Apple responding to the posted questions.

About a year ago I discovered I couldn't upload data to Gracenotes - this occurred right after I had downloaded updated iTunes software - Apple's response was to check my spyware settings - did so, no luck - chatted with Apple again, mentioned I thought there was a bug in the recent update, Apple's guy was candid, said he wasn't allowed to discuss-lo & behold 1 day later another software update appears, and Gracenotes works!

I just spent over an hour on the phone with Apple Support (both L1 and L2 tech support). The L1 acknowledged that Apple has been experiencing server issues related to iTunes Match, and after going through some steps already outlined in this thread, the best thing to do would be to wait. After speaking to the L2 tech, he was less willing to own up to the problem, asking me to email the iTunes Store support team (who do not have a call center).

I did send off that email to iTunes Store support , but I also went ahead and tipped off all the major tech blogs about this iTunes Match issue. It seems that from experience, Apple tends to move when bad press begins to surface. If other folks here want to tip off the tech blogs too (along with calling Apple Support), I think that could go a long way to getting this issue resolved. Just go to the home pages of the tech blogs you read and look for a link that says "Send us a tip".

Good idea! I mean, we ARE paying for iTunes Match...Is apple going to refund us for this inconvenience?

I dont think so! Whether this is sheduled maintainence or not, a kind notification email is all that is needed to alert us.
