iSync with Nokia's new N80 phone?

hi guys, thanks for this. in the string you quote above you have replaced some of the N90 with N80-1 and some with just N80. Is this correct? should they all be changed to N80-1?

anyone have a N80 tiff I can use? and do I need to label it N80-1.tiff???

Yes indeed, just got mine an hour ago and already have it working just fine after following the edits listed on this page.

I made an icon for iSync too. Download it from my friends at e2Sync.

Just unzip it and place it with the other icons in the same folder as the MetaClasses.plist file you need to edit

Great to hear about the successful syncing of the Nokia N80. Two last questions:
1) How complete is the sync (i.e. do all the fields sync correctly, what about pictures)?
2) Are you able connect via Bluetooth with the address book for dialing, caller-id and text messaging?

i can sync after following the above instructions but i cant use address book to connect to the n80. it wants to pair even though it already is paired. address book refuses the pair code as well.

It probably syncs but it will screw up most of your all-day appointments and instead stupidly make them Midnight to Midnight appointments on your handset.

You can't make this stuff up.

Oh flip. So it does. Grrr... that is very annoying. Anyone know why, or how to stop it?

I bought the plugg-in from novamedia.
It works perfectly.
I could synchronise all my contacts and all events in i-cal without any mistake.
The only trouble is the ugly logo in the i-sync panel, instead the phone picture.

I also bought the same plug-in. Yes it works, but it still converts your iCal all-day appointments to midnight-midnight appointments on the N80 instead of day memos.

I would stll be very grateful if anyone knows a way to stop this.

hi. isync works great with N80, thanks! the only issue i have is when entering a new calender entry on phone it syncs and appears 1 hour earlier in ical! I have tried changing all the time formats on the phone, but it makes no difference. However, new and exisiting ical entries sync to the phone and represent the correct time....any ideas folks? cheers, Paul

Does anyone know how to connect the Powerbook to the internet with the N80? does the Novamedia software help? I am on Orange network - how would I set this up in Network connections? Thanks 😉

Hi Luntha

I do not know how to access the Internet from your PowerBook via the N80, although it should be pretty easy-once-you-know-how if you have Bluetooth and WLAN. The answer will not be far away.

However, the Novamedia iSync plug-in will not help you. That's nothing to do with Internet access, and in fact, you shouldn't need any extra software for Internet access anyway.

Network Preferences -> Bluetooth -> PPP
Settings from your provider. You will need to subscribe to their data service. Don't know anything about Orange.

Bluetooth Modem TAB you will need the correct modem script. I am using "Nokia 3G CID1" from Ross Barkman http://www.taniwha.org.uk/

I have an n80-1 from Orange.

I've amended the script as suggested and using iSync brings over calendar and contacts from the addressbook.

But iSync won't let me choose a smart group or range of smart groups to sync. It seems to be all or nothing. All is around 3500 addresses whereas all I want on the phone are around 200 subset.

Followed instructions above i.e. altering script to read N80-1 and it worked perfectly.

Groups are working as well but I haven't tried a smart group just yet. Does iSync let you do this normally with other phones..???
