The free up to date program for Mountain Lion applies to people who buy new computers, not an OS. Here is the official information from Apple:

ML is only $19.99.

Thankyou Thomas,

It's very difficult to found an authentic user on this forum, for this reason i post very few here... In general users here are very very agressives...probably Apple lobbyist wich in fact pollute/dirt the Apple image... (as said in the link you have forwarded to me) very strange, for this reason i prefer Hardmac.com (in french macbidouille)...

In fact i gone to Snow Leopard, and all the problems have mysteriously disappeared... (after i tried Mountain Lion GM), i found Webserver, and ftp setting disappeared, on Lion only Ftp server have been removed from setting...

I think Apple is going in an newbies direction...

Anyway, there is still solutions to enable apache, or ftp with the terminal... but i prefer enable a setting in prefs panel...

Peoples have discovered another problem wich is probably hardware this one, not software, with the graphic card GT330M, and GT320, for now i cross my fingers (i hope i have got Applecare for my macbook pro)...

Sometimes the screen is full of artefacts... like when a graphic card is damaged...

I have never got this problem with Snow Leopard, but with Lion it came 2-3 times (for this reason i think i'ts an Lion Problem)... i'm not sure from where came the problem (graphic card, system, drivers, or just GFX card status update)... The time i got to make a screnshot, problem have disappeared... or may be it's not visible on screenshot (if it's a screen problem)

To be sure, i have done (again) an clean install of Snow Leopard, and then i have ran AHT... No problem my Macbook pro is perfectly worked... (done the simple test wich take 3 -5 mn)...

ps : i asked a refund for Lion to the Appstore, i got positive response the same day, Apple have gain my confidence again...

Just to give a feedback at cold...

After 13 days on another system than Lion, i never saw the graphics problem as described here :

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3629505?answerId=18956545022#18956545022

As said some friends, it's a fact Lion demand more (sollicit ?) to the Graphic card than others systems, so it make the computer (specially if it's an laptop) very hot...

And making a computer very hot, is very bad for any computer... it erode it more fast than in an standard configuration... Just this point make all the "Pro" arguments obsolet...

ps : i have tested my macbook pro i5 2.4ghz mid 2010 with AHT (on my Apple DVDs) and it say no problem... Hopefully the Macbook is working like a charm (Hopefully also, i have Applecare warranty extension)
🙂

To answer my first post, and stay in the subject :

Here is the Mountain Lion Apple Page in French :

http://www.apple.com/fr/osx/uptodate/

You can read in the page :

"La mise à niveau OS X Mountain Lion sera disponible sans aucuns frais supplémentaires sur le Mac App Store pour tous les clients ayant acheté un nouveau système Mac éligible auprès d'Apple ou d'un Revendeur Agréé Apple le 11 juin 2012 ou ultérieurement."

In French a mac system is an OS, MacOS, IOS, Windows etc...

This mean in english : if you have buyed a mac system after the June 11th 2012, you are eligible to upgrade freely your system with Mountain Lion...

They should be more precise...

In English, here : http://www.apple.com/osx/uptodate/ it's the same story :

The OS X Mountain Lion Up-to-Date upgrade will be available at no additional charge from the Mac App Store to all customers who purchase a qualifying new Mac system from Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller on or after June 11, 2012.

I think there wil be lot of peoples (French, and English) which will call Apple, to ask why they aren't eligible...

😁

No free ML upgrade for peoples which have buy Lion after 13/06
