Macbook Pro retina squeaky noise

I've just noticed a squeaky noise in my Macbook Pro retina. When you press the bottom lid you can hear it. It sounds like rusty small springs. My old 13" MBP never made this sound but I know there are springs on the motherboard to keep the distance between the lid and the board. Is this something someone else is experiencing? I mean if my old $1199 13" Macbook Pro didn't have this noise although the same type of springs, shouldn't my Macbook Pro retina $2199 be free of this noise too? I know that this will probably not give me any problems in the future but imo a computer for $2199 shouldn't squeak when you have it your knees and it's quite annoying.

Here's a picture of the springs on the motherboard

I think this is a real issue and one of the weakest points of my early 2013 MacBook Pro 13" with Retina display. Might have several possible sources:

  1. the interaction between buttom case and top case => there might be friction between the two cases
  2. the interaction between buttom case and the screw couplings => the screw head surface, which is scratching around the on the countersink surface or the screw itself, which is scratching around the clearance hole. This would explain this video a German user posted on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMoIYYTZtZk He basically put some oil on the screw heads and the creaking was gone.
  3. the interactio between the battery and the top case due to the glued connection

I basically consider interaction 1 and 2 to be the culprit, because I was at the apple store and the genius loosened the screws and tightened them again. That made the creaking disappear for at leat a day.

No, it's not the hinge. Today I was at an Apple Store and the genius was very helpfull an pleasant. Now they will exchange the buttom case on warranty. He told me, that there were a a lot of customers with the same problem during the last few months. Replacing the buttom case should help. Let's see... I'm now pretty satisfied with the apple service. I hope the problem will be sold in 5 days when the case arrives.

I have the same problem , I've had my MBP for just 2 months , Apple says they won't replace just repair . Why would I want it repaired only after 2 months...I want a new replacement. Has anyone had luck with getting a replacement after the 30 Day return policy? I'll never buy a new Apple again if this is the quallity of their products made in China!

So I go to an apple store to open it and see were the sound come from, and... nothing no sound inside the macbook. Check the screw in red circle, and the guy say to that they are captor. No sound from them anyway ... So, I conclude myself that the sound come from the button plate. So I don't worry anymore ^^
