Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding. What do I do?

I can't get to google.com or yahoo.com or anything, although my network is o.k. I'm connected to the Internet, but I can't get to a page. I get this message : "Cannot Open Page. Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding."

Please help me, someone.

Thanks,

Manitwo

Go to Settings>General>Reset

Reset the network settings

The device should turn itself off & back on then go into Settings>Wifi and join your network

My iphone 6 randomly stopped working on my WIFI. I could not use Safari or Mail, it repeatedly said "safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding" when trying to load webpages.

LTE and 3G worked perfect, only when connected to WIFI it didnt work.

I tried all of the above suggestions, and it didnt work. I did connect to another WIFI signal and than i connected back to my WIFI and mysteriously everything started working agian...Wierddddd.

i have exactly the same problem for my iphone 4s. I had already reset network settings and join again my network but still problem uccors. I also reset all settings and erase all the contents and start all over again but still freezes and says "Cannot open page. Safari could not open page because the server stopped responding". Sometimes its working but not all the time. I am using my iphone 4 the same time but theres no problem with my iphone 4 about the wi-fi network and browsing. I don't know how to fix it. I searched on the apple website but the problem wasn't included for troubleshooting. I think the best thing to do is to bring back to Apple store so they can replace it to a new one.

I myself exerpienced this issue for about the last month, believing it to be a campus network problem; however, I managed to revive Safari by simply going to Settings → scroll down to Safari → in Safari settings, I selected both Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data.

I also turned off the reading list's use of cellular data, but that most likely didn't affect Safari's ability to work once again.

Hope this helps, good luck! 🙂

Thank you very much. It really works. When I call the number that showed on Safari, apple support. The guy tried to influence me, explain things and talked too much , not directly answered the questions, helped, or solved the problem exactly. He told me to go the store in my area and cost about $300-$400. I know that it's scam. He told me to connect device with laptop and he can see what's the main problem. Then he typed many things show me and said if I don't believe , just see this ,that ,those, etc. Then I had to cut down the cell. I search online and I find your guys give the best direction. Now I can use my iPad as usual.

Appreciate!

I just stumbled on this thread, and wanted to say that I too, discovered (when I upgraded to iOS 8.1) that I could fix this "Server Not Responding" error by opening Settings/WiFi and since luckily we have more than one WiFi network here (to which I have access) I have been able to fix this problem by switching to a different WiFi network (and then switching back to the original WiFi if I needed that particular one for peripheral access).

I agree, this is ridiculous that Safari (and Mail, and other iOS apps that use internet access) cannot refresh the WiFi connection if it fails to connect while WiFi is active. That's what this is all about, even though other apps will say "No Internet Connection" while Safari gives this BS about it being all the "server's" fault. My iPhone or iPad Air 2 always have an active WiFi connection when this failure happens, and 90% of the time, it happens suddenly when I'd been accessing new data on the internet intensively, via Google search, or using an app like Etsy when between one breath and the next, it fails to remember it has been connected to the internet for hours. And yep, I did not move the location of my device, not more than an inch, anyway.

Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding. What do I do?
