I asked yesterday and all I got was smart *** answers from tools...any help Apple? You can't even get copy and paste to work correctly or an iPad that actually charges correctly.
I asked yesterday and all I got was smart *** answers from tools...any help Apple? You can't even get copy and paste to work correctly or an iPad that actually charges correctly.
Let's break this down a bit:
What and how have you tried to copy and paste?
Please describe the action you take on your iPad and the application you are using when this occurs so we can try and replicate your problem.
Some applications do not allow copy and paste, for instance, Videos can be copied due to their copyright protections, Safari often does not allow direct copying for similar reasons - these and others are built into the applications. Perhaps you have run into one of them?
Often the option to Paste does not appear until you double tap. Have you seen the "Paste" option and then nothing appears? Were you able to select text or images or shapes and find the "Copy" option?
As far as not charging, have you tried using a differnt cable? Are you sure your charger is a 10W charger? Are you trying to charge through a USB connection to your Mac?
We want to help, that's why we log in and offer our time. But, we can't help without some information from you.
After my post from yesterday i was able to get it working when i cut and pasted a photo but today I was in the middle of a long e mail and had cut and pasted another larger section of text onto it when all of a sudden everything on my email disappeared?? I checked drafts hoping it was there, but it wasn't so I lost all the work,I had just done in the last 30'minutes...very upsetting! I am hoping that this is not due to the IOS6 download I finally got installed after about
3 days of trying to update it.
Upon further investigation: the Copy command works for text on some of the web pages and does not work for others. Here is an example of the page where Copy does NOT work:
http://www.winability.com/folderguard/users-guide.htm?page=users-guide_faq.htm
Try to copy some text from the right-hand window, then paste it somewhere, it does NOT work for me.
Or try using maps.google.com to get some directions. It does not even let me select a text to copy! Even if it's a plain text at the bottom, like copyright or 'view in mobile'.
I have this problem and it has occurred several times, this time it started when I tried to copy from the google address
line, and paste it into a page in my "Notebook" it mot only pasted nothing but it wiped out everything that was below which was equally about 30 minutes typing.
My "Cut & Paste does not function whatsoever, I copy my own typing within "Notebook" and when I paste on the same page nothing appears, I am cutting and pasting within "Notebook", on a Blank page, of course, as I don't wish for Apple to wipe out my past work
So this does happen like Jody has stated, but I have to say, that Jody never once stated that he was in contact with the
Apple Helpline such as it is, he was only making references to how poor their helpline was since the Apple Boss slipped away.
You. and others have now brought up the Name Mercedes so I will now inform you that this is not a Mercedes helpline just as its not an Apple helpline.
I have to say Jody that you are making a fool of yourself by stating what you did with your iPad, you should try to sound less arrogant in future, and then others might respect your wishes a little more.
I will now smash my iPad Mine against my "Roller Skates"
Before you write I fully understand that this is not a " Roller Skate" Forum.
Kind Regards
Tony
Some say
"iIf its not broke don't fix it"
Apple say
"If its not broke its because it does not have enough features."

Well, I'm an 'old' Mac user but newbie on iPad.
Copy/paste on iPad is not clear to me... not the general idea but on iPad.
For example, i copied a text from my e-mail which should be in the memory, right?
Then i opened Notes (iNotes, I assume) and was unable to find a feature or a way to paste that text into iNote.
Should I first go to iCloud and leave it there for later copy/paste, or what am I missing?
Thanks.
I'm having the same problem with my iPhone 5S. No matter what I do my phone continues to paste text from a week or so ago. If I copy new text and paste it it will paste the new text but if I don't paste anything for 5-10 minutes after pasting the new text my phone will revert back to pasting the text from a week or so ago. My first thought was that it could be an iOS 7.0.2 bug but clearly this has happened in older versions of iOS. I however have never had the problem until just recently. I have tried a soft reset with the sleep and home buttons but to no avail. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
Same issue for me on an iPhone 5s and a recent iPad, both running the latest iOS.
I have never had an issue with this until the last couple days. When I copy and paste something, what gets pasted is text from the day before, NOT what I currently copied. I have tried it a few times and it always pastes the older text.
Very frustrating.
I have been following this post since 2012 as I had the same problem as Jody. Still have it. Been hoping that by tuning in over the now years, someone may solve it. I have upgraded to the latest upgrades, rebooted, gone to apple shop, turned the thing on and off, jumped out of one program and tried to paste into a new doc....nothing works. I use the ipad to study so the ability to cut and paste is really valuable and this is a problem that Apple should have looked into two years ago. Hoping for a resolution or I may be switching to a Samsung! Good luck to all with this issue.
I have been having this problem for months. I copied a tweet weeks ago and some how it has got stuck in the memory. When I restart my phone hard or soft reset the clipboard or memory or what ever you call it, has the text from that tweet I copied weeks ago and it pastes it if I choose paste.
When I copy other things it will usually keep that text, but then within a short time, the tweet text I copied is back in the memory and it will paste it instead of what I just copied. It does not matter if I cut or copy anything new, it will always go back to the tweet text stuck in the memory.
I finally called apple support today and they had me do a reset of the setting, it did not fix it. They had me do a update to update the system so it is up to date. My iphone 5s is now up to date and yet still does this. They told me I have to next do a reset and delete everything and do a restore. My concern is what ever is causing this will just happen again. I do not want to have to do a restore every few weeks to fix this.
There also have to be a easier way to delete something in the memory or clipboard than to wipe the device clean and restore it. This is very frustrating and I do not know what else to do.
ME too i just selected all, copy and the went to another place to paste ( this case I was copying and pasting the text of one image posted in Instagram to a new image I was posting in Instagram which requires the same text).
I copied three times to be sure, and went to Instagram again to post a new image, and paste the text - and basically, not even the paste dialogue would appear.
After a few times the only thing that appeared was select or select all but there was no text that to select. I then went to notes app, and try to see if it would pace that. It didn't. This is happened since the ios9 update.
I think it is a memory leak because iOS 9 is seriously much slower than any of its previous versions. To be quite honest I find that iOS 9 and El Capitan are the worst ever update second-place being Yosemite. I was really happy with iOS 7 and Mavericks. And since then I really Dont like what the new os and mobile os are like. Stupid stuff like live photos, and little gimmicks. I feel that Apple has Copy too many things from android which I really do not like also. Anyway I didn't come here about that. I came here to support by saying yes the copy and paste does not work more often than It does.
Been done everyday since day one...
'Electric toothbrushes work like they should'
Mine doesn't! And I just cut and pasted the quote.
Where does that leave your logic - or your ulcer?
Wow. I just jumped in and this seems to be the official "Whiners' Thread!"
Yeah, ya' got that right. Or the "I am the center of the universe" thread. Take your pick.
JimHdk: thanks for your help. I have iPad 2, model FC979LL, running iOS 5.1.1 Should I upgrade to 6.0 perhaps?
I have same problem with copy And paste does not occure all the time but pastes the last ítem i pasted it also happens with Evernote
