Let's break this down a bit:

What and how have you tried to copy and paste?

Please describe the action you take on your iPad and the application you are using when this occurs so we can try and replicate your problem.

Some applications do not allow copy and paste, for instance, Videos can be copied due to their copyright protections, Safari often does not allow direct copying for similar reasons - these and others are built into the applications. Perhaps you have run into one of them?

Often the option to Paste does not appear until you double tap. Have you seen the "Paste" option and then nothing appears? Were you able to select text or images or shapes and find the "Copy" option?

As far as not charging, have you tried using a differnt cable? Are you sure your charger is a 10W charger? Are you trying to charge through a USB connection to your Mac?

We want to help, that's why we log in and offer our time. But, we can't help without some information from you.

Copying from anything to paste it, just continues to paste the same stuff as the last time I attempted to use it. That simple. Apple doesn't have to care now Steve is gone. I don't even bother using it anymore, because it won't clear the previous paste from months ago. I was so ****** this morning when I was trying again, to copy driving directions, I was two breathes from smashing it into bits on the hood of my beautiful Mercedes. That's what I'd did to my third gen iPod that cost 500 dollars when it wouldn't work like it should. My iPad has been to apple twice for not charging. The second time I got it back, as soon as I plugged it in, it would not charge!!! It charges when it wants. Sometimes it recognizes the APPLE charger most times it doesn't. I just don't care anymore, Apple is garbage to me now Steve is gone, so I don't care one bit. Thanks APPLE!

Sorry but YOU are incorrect. It does work for us. I use it VERY frequently. The text below was copied directly from your post, for example.

Sorry all but Jodie is correct. I have the same problem. Copy and paste doesn't work correctly . It used to but now just pastes the same old thing I copied weeks ago. Cant clear it . Tried everything. Internet suggested reboot. Doesn't work. It's a real issue as I use it all the time.

But there are some limitations - depending on the context - and it is possible there is an issue with your iPad. If you you describe the context, what apps you are using Nd how you are going about it, someone may be able to help you.

I have the same problem often however it's on the latest Safari on a computer. My solution is to turn Safari off for several seconds. If I don't do it long enough I still can't hilight/copy/paste/. It's like Safari gets constipated and I have to give it an enema. And it hasn't been that long since I turned off the whole computer.

I agree -- Apple has gone down hill this last year since trying to make their products work both on a computer and ipad, etc.

Please immediately head to your nearest computer/electronics store and purchase an HP computer running Windows 7. You will be eligible for the Windows 8 upgrade when it comes out. Then, later this year, but the Windows Surface with Windows 8.

After you get both of these use the browser on it and look up "Professional Counselor" and "Anger Management". Copy the directions, paste them into Word and then drive to your appointment.

When your Mercedes fails to do something you want are you going to drive it off a bridge?

BTW, my iPad charges just fine and I have no problems with copy and paste unless a particular website had blocked the ability to do so.

Thank you James for your comments. I in fact do have a problem with it, as Jodie has, so please do not tell me I am INCORRECT. Just because you have yet to experience the same problem does not mean we are not experiencing it. As I clearly stated, it was working fine up until about two weeks ago. I am attempting to cut and paste from the same ibook that I previously had successfully cut and pasted many times before. Now, I highlight the phrase, as before, but when I 'paste' it gives me a phrase that is from say two weeks ago. It pastes it correctly, but it's not the new phrase (if that makes sense). So, the cut and paste 'works' if you want to be pedanic about it - it's just not pasting new 'cuts'. It is like the old phrase is 'stuck' there.

I have followed the other suggestions on this site and others. A reboot doesn't work. There appears to be no other problems with the ipad. Just this.

I found this discussion as I too, who have copied and pasted many times on my ipad without any problem, is nowhaving the same problem it is pasteing the last item i copied and I was trying to find out how to get out of that mode ...when i found this very lively discussion. So the person who originally asked about this most likely is experiencing the same problem as myself and several others. I will now attempt some of the suggestions that have been offered to see if it corrects it...here's hoping. But I will NOT smash my ipad on my BMW if it doesn't work 🙂 I guess only Mercedes owners do that...ugh
