How do I convert wmv to mov files for fcp?

Hi, I know a program that is able to convert WMV to FCP for you. It is Video Converter from iOrgSoft.com. It supports WMV as output format and it also offers optimized output format for FCP.

Hello, I have come across this situation before and I also tried about 4 converters at that time. But finally, one reliable video converter helped me convert my videos to its default Final Cut Pro supported format because you can select the "Final Cut Pro" as output format. Then I imported the exported video to FCP without any problems. 🙂

To import WMV to FCP, we had better convert WMV to FCP more supported Apple ProRes MOV. iDealshare VideoGo is just the right one which can convert WMV to MOV(Apple ProRes) or MOV(QuickTime) on Mac OS X.

easy method:

a. install Handbrake, convert to .mp4

b. use Compressor to convert .mp4 to desired output at .mov

WMV is a format created by Microsoft. It doesn't work well with Mac-based software and programs. In order to edit .wmv files in Final Cut Pro, we need to convert WMV to MOV to make it compatible with FCP.

I have a large number of MP4 clips which I need to convert to .mov files (will use ProRes422) in order to be able to use them in FCP7.

I am using Compressor 3.5.3. But when I drag a clip to create a job I get this message "Error trying to open source media file.". What am I doing wrong?

Also, is there a quick way to convert bulk clips?
